Not that I find it hard to watch, but I was squirming in my seat during the opening scene from Narc.

Spoiler:
When Jason Patric is jumping around while shooting the bad guy while a pregnant woman and her child are nearby (held hostage). To see a scene where a expecting mother takes such a bad injury is pretty extreme.

Oh, and the fire extinguisher to the head scene in Irreversible. Nasty.

My most memorable "uncomfortable scene" is from Lina Wertmuller's Swept Away:

Spoiler:
When they are on the island and Giannini's character starts hitting Melato's character. In the theater I was in, everyone cheered. When he didn't let up, the theater grew eerily silent and you could sense how uncomfortable and ashamed everyone was. I guess that scene told us more about ourselves than we wanted to admit. 30 years later and I still can't watch it.

I agree on most of Spanking the Monkey. Any scene involving lotion. I had to cover my head with a pillow, and I wanted to shut it off.

Also the scene in The Weather Man where the photographer is trying to get the boy to take his shirt off. It isn't graphic or anything, but just sleazy, because the kid has no idea what's going on.

I also had huge problems with large chunks of The Butterfly Effect, which was so grim I was depressed for like a day afterwards. I don't know, I guess child molestation makes me uncomfortable. Weird, huh?

I'd heartily agree with that scene from Narc. Grisly to say the least.

I just saw Cabin Fever again. Lots to squirm for in that one.

Spoiler:
The leg shaving scene and the dog eating the lips off that girl.

I was watching movies on cable this weekend so these two come to mind.

Any scene where a bone breaks through skin gives me the willies....Ravenous (not to mention the whole cannibalism plot).

Also, uncomfortable in a social setting, Pretty in Pink. Andy confronting Blaine about prom, makes me cringe.

Couldn't have thought of two more different movies where I felt uncomfortable.

"Happiness"
Various scenes in this movie is just so uncomfortable...
But the writing and the acting is so good.. I sat there enjoying the 'uncomfortableness' of it....

There are a few scenes in Natural Born Killers that haunt me, and I can't even remember what they are. I've only seen that movie once, but I won't see it again.

Word to the wise: this spoiler text also contains a "bonus" spoiler for Irreversible.

I know exactly how you feel. I closed my eyes so I would not have to see Michelle Williams and Anne Hathaway's boobs!

What? Three pages and no mention of the "hobbling" scene from Misery? The build-up to that moment alone was pretty intense! Setting up the block, the pleading, yeesh!

"Thriller"...

...is certainly a cruel picture. The eye scene is bad, but (SPOILER)...

...the first sex scene completely freaked me out! I knew the movie was unrated, but didn't expect to actually see close-up penetration! What made it so wrong for me, was that this was supposed to be disturbing, not titilating, but it's shot like porn. AWFUL. I turned it off.....couldn't take it.

I also had to turn off "Pink Flamingos" when cotton starting getting it on with his girlfriend and the chickens. Once I took a shower with a loofa sponge, I decided to go ahead and finish the movie.

The rape of the schoolgirl in Angel Guts: High school co-ed was very uncomfortable viewing. In fact any kind of sexual and/or sexualised violence tends to make me feel pretty uncomfortable.

The first one that came to mind for me when I saw this thread title was John pulling glass out of his feet in Die Hard. I probably haven't seen many of the rape movies folks are mentioning above...
A good friend of mine has a problem with a scene from the second Die Hard movie where McClane stabs a bad guy in the eye with a big icicle!
OHHH! Chilling!!

Take care all!!

Stir of Echoes

The part that always gets me is the fingernail against the hardwood floor scene, anyone that has viewed that movie has to know what I am referring too.

Also many different parts in The Ring make me less than comfortable...

Ichi the Killer. Even though it's one of my favorite movies.

Spoiler:
most of the female beatings are pretty harsh but the worst it when they slice the girls nipples off with a razor

that scene gets me everytime.

I know lots of people would use that part of the movie as the hardest to watch, but for some reason, the hardest part for me to watch was the yellow snow cone.

Also, a quick one, but the pencil to the ankle in The Evil Dead.
