Watch the entire movie, it's really good. A chick flick for people who don't like chick flicks.
Like someone else posted, Hugh Grant was wonderful..no bumbling, running hands through hair, stammering cuteness that some ladies seem to enjoy (not me). |
I love this movie. Also liked reading the book.

Loved it as well. I wouldn't really call it a chick flick though. It's just a comedy.

I liked it as well. I didn't think I would enjoy it because sometimes I find Hugh Grant annoying, but he was alright in this movie.

Yeah, this is not a chick flick. A story about a bachelor who refuses to grow up and settle down? Well, up until the end. Like you said, it's just a comedy. |
Liked it also. Hugh Grant was good.

I'm not sure which Im more suprised about, the fact that I too really loved this movie, or that we made 32 posts without a " this movie sucks" comment...

I can't think of a complaint about this movie. I watch it pretty regularly. My and my brothers quote it quite a bit when we get together. Plus the soundtrack is in heavy rotation on my CD player.

I also agree that Strange Days has one of the most memorable trailers in a long time. It's right up there with Eternal Sunshine. |
I thought the movie was okay, but the soundtrack is one of the best I've ever heard.
|
This is one of his Hugh Grant's best movies, along with Love Actually.

I being a chick, consider this the closest thing to a "chick flick"...it has Hugh Grant, a strong family story line and a love story. |
It's too bad Nick Hornby doesn't do screenplays for his books that are made into films. Other than 97's "Fever Pitch". Which I thought was mediocre at best. The movie, not the screenplay. But I think Peter Hedges, along with Chris and Paul Weitz, did a great job adapting Hornby's "About a Boy". For those who don't know, Hedges also wrote and directed "Pieces of April". Also an excellent film.
