You've got to watch (insert film here)....

I need recommendations of stuff to watch. By your own opinions, the best of the best, genre doesn't matter. Not AFI stuff, films that you believe everyone should watch or movies that you're shocked to hear that someone you know hasn't ever seen it, thus, the "you've got to watch....". Thanks.

Your post makes it sound like you only want people to name the usual "omg you haven't seen that?!" movies, but I'm still going to ignore that and list a relatively obscure title that I feel people have got to watch:

Reconstruction

Example: Someone mentions they're a horror fan, I ask them if they've ever seen Dead Alive.....films, by my estimation, that are required viewing, yet they end up pushed aside for what ever reason. They say they're an action movie fan....check out John Woo's Hong Kong stuff.

Hmmmm...

I guess Arlington Road fits this mold then.

I went into it expecting the worst, and it ended up to be a great flick with great acting. Not too many people ever talk about that one, but it's really good.

Rear Window

Alfred Hitchcock movie.

If there is one that I usually recommend it is this one for several reasons. One of my favorites. Fits everyone's tastes. A lot of people haven't seen it, or at least not enough. Damn good movie.
