Kirby Dick's 'This Film Is Not Yet Rated'
I found this ironic and amusing, apparently this documentary is about the MPAA and the hypocrisity on how and why certain films are awarded their ratings - fairly and unfairly, and more importantly the dreaded NC-17.
Well... here's the icing on the cake (from IMDB)
Rated NC-17 for some graphic sexual content. (pending appeal)
They're trying to appeal for an R-rating, should be interesting to see if they are granted it.

I would love to see the "graphic" content, just to see if the MPAA are being bullies just because they don't like to be made fun of.
I am really looking forward to seeing this.

Heard about this when Kevin Smith was on Opie & Anthony. I could care less about the "documentary" part but I'm HIGHLY interested in the second half of the film where they interview directors who've had movies rated NC-17 for stupid shit. Kevin did not mention whether he was one of them interview, but for being hit with an NC-17 twice (and an R for freakin' Jersey Girl) for just words, I have to imagine he'd be part of it.

the MPAA is amazingly fickle and uptight when it comes to adult language - they have had problems with stand up comedian films:
- the 1991 Andrew Dice Clay's 'Dice Rules' rated and released with a NC-17 rating
- Martin Lawrence's 'You So Crazy' - also released with the NC-17 rating, recent video rerelease surrended rating: unrated.
- Eddie Murphy's 'Raw' - three times submitted to the rating's board, eventual awarded R-rating.
- 'The Aristocrats' - didn't even bother submitting to the MPAA - went out unrated.

I think it would be rathing funny - if they can't overturn it's NC-17 rating and just use this as a marketing tool and get the most attention from it.
"THIS FILM IS NOT YET RATED"
NC-17:
"for some graphic sexual content".

It really is utterly hilarious, especially those "counters" which counts the amount of "thrusts" acceptable in sex scenes, according to the MPAA. And the animated parts describing the ratings are very funny.
