That best supporting actor categorey is really the only good race among the "major" awards, but the other categories are more interesting.

Supporting Actor is really the only award with any sense of drama. It went from a 2-man race a few weeks ago (Clooney, Giamatti) and suddenly expanded to a 4-man (adding Gyllenhaal and Dillon). I still don't think the last 2 have a good chance, but their names have popped up over the last couple of weeks. I think it's too late for them, however.

I hope Adams pulls an upset, but I think Weisz is a very safe pick.

Well Gyllenhaal won the BAFTA, that combined with Brokeback winning Best Picture would provide a decent amount of support I suppose. I don't think Dillon has a shot though. Crash seems to have overstated support. And hell, Dillon didn't even win at SAGs, where Crash's win for ensemble was supposed to be so big. I think you're right in that it will be either Clooney or Giamatti. I'm gonna go Giamatti based on the fact that too many people seem confused and put-off by Syrianna.

I made 2 quick changes, but they were in the short film categories. Whomever lucks up and gets those right will have a great chance to win. Assuming they didn't make any stupid picks for the rest of the awards.

Man, I was right there with you Mao, tied for 4th. Shoulda figured about March of the Penguins, but thought it was too insubstantial to win. Guess I could say the same thing about Crash, come to think of it...

Hmm, I thought I did. Right now, I get an error message when I try to access the page.

In case I can't log in again, could someone tell me what place I was? Just out of curiosity -- thanks!
