Johnny Bravo, a live-action movie....starring The Rock??!?!

I just was browsing the Wikipedia's entry for Johnny Bravo and noticed this:
A live action film starring The Rock as Johnny Bravo is in production, and is set to be released in theatres in the US on the 21st November 2006.
Has anybody heard about this? I can't possibly imagine The Rock as Johnny Bravo...

That's horrible. Everyone knows Greg Brady is the one true Johnny Bravo.

This is one of those movies that just makes me wonder just what it is Hollywood execs are smoking. I'm actually a fan of The Rock (Doom not withstanding), but this just seems like a terrible idea from every possible angle.

As much as I think about it, I can't think of anybody that could do Johnny Bravo justice....just do a full-length cartoon or something, there's no reason for it to be live-action!

Let's see, Doom, Walking Tall, Be Cool, The Rundown. Just how many turds does this guy get to be in?

Well, in his defense he's probably the best thing in any of those movies.

Awww common, I thought The Rundown was awesome (I actually liked nearly all of those movies, but The Rundown is a personal favorite). Christopher Walken's Tooth Fairy story gets me every time.

Agreed, though I really can't see anyone being better for the part. The Rock does seem to think he's cooler than he actually is, like Bravo.

I totally agree. Which is why it makes it even worse seeing "the next action superstar" blow his career not because of charisma or potential, but because of horrible project picking.

The real question is will the movie feature Elvis-Johnny or the Homer-Johnny of the later episodes.

Whoa. This should not happen. A feature length cartoon would be ok, but not a live action. Besides, one of my friends should be Johnny if it was done live. He dresses exactly the same, has the same hair, and has the same demeanor. With a little voice coaching, it would be a perfect match.
