NYC Movie Fans! Ziegfeld plays Indy, Godfather, LOTR & more!

http://www.clearviewcinemas.com/zieg...ics/index.html

The Godfather
The Godfather Part 2
Chinatown
West Side Story
My Fair Lady
Chicago
Ben-Hur
Gladiator
Braveheart
All 3 LOTR
All 3 Indiana Jones!

I'll definitely be there for Indy and probably GF2 since I've never seen it on the big screen!

Doesn't say. I would assume 70mm because it is the Ziegfeld. I dunno where we'd find specs like that.

I might check out Temple of Doom as I haven't seen it in a theater since 1984. Good fun.

All films are apparently being presented in 35mm.

interesting - I saw a print here at DC's Uptown theatre three years ago and the Raiders print was very washed out and colourless for the first half of the film. The sound was great, but the condition of the print was severly lacking.

I have to say kudos to the theater for changing around the showtimes every day, which allows people to see all 3 or 4 of the movies at the same time during the course of the week. What wouldn't I give to be living in New York right now and be able to see all of these movies.

The only ones that I've seen on the big screen are:
The Godfather (local arthouse)
Chicago
Braveheart
Gladiator
Raiders of the Lost Ark (local theater summer midnight screening series)
Fellowship of the Ring
The Two Towers
Return of the King

Are the LOTR films the originals or extended cuts?

good question - I'd love to see the extended cut of 'The Return of the King' on the big screen with the Witch King/Gandalf scene.

very nice. and i was just about to pop in CE tonight. i've never seen it on the big screen! i think i'll wait for the ziegfeld.

i'd like to also check out zhivago and rain (which i've never seen, ), and NBNW (also never seen on big screen).

i'd like to see some of the indy films, but i saw Raiders and crusade in a theater and doom is my least favorite of the 3.

wow! it's only 8.50. i was expecting 10+.

already saw 2001 and alien in a theater. if you havent seen 2001 that way, it's a must see. especially the 'stargate' part.

There's an ad in this weekend's edition of AM NEW YORK (the freebie paper) that says all seats for the Indy series are $7.50 - and even better, has a coupon good for 2-for-1 admission for the Indy series.

Indy was amazing. My 6 year old really enjoyed it. I've seen it a hundred times but it was like seeing it for the first time. The crowd was cheering like crazy. Simply awesome.

The preview for LOA was amazing--it will be shown from a restored 70 mm print. Oh yes....I will be there.

Were you there for all 3? I saw a lot of kids there with their parents. One couple had 8 kids with them; one of whom was celebrating a birthday. Wonderfully behaved. I wondered how many of those parents were kids the first time THEY saw them! Made me really wish I had a kid to sit next to me and experience them. Since I didn't, I had the next best thing: my dad.
