I have wavered back and forth. I really WANTED to like it, and I think I was disappointed the first time I saw it. On repeat viewings, it gets better and you can find other elements (other than some of the scripting, which I thought was a little weak) that really are quite good.
In the end, I think I really would have liked to see Annette Benning in the role of the wife. She was originally suppose to play her, but something happened and she droppped out. Would have changed it a bit, I think.

Very few movies get to me emotionally but this one hit me like a ton of bricks. I can never tell why because I find most of the actors very annoying and the characters poorly portrayed......but it never fails that the end gets to me a bit each time I watch it.
