While I'm sure this will be a fine movie, as Mann is incapable of making or shooting a bad movie, the digital-video appearance of Miami Vice just looks cheap. I didn't like it in Collateral (fast movements and quick-pans resulted in nothing but blur), and it's gonna bug me here too. Why can't he just shoot on film?
