I don't recall seeing this before, and search didn't seem to turn anything up (although I may have missed it), so enjoy!

Link doesn't work.
Is this the funny segment where they are taping their show and bitch, complain & hurl insults at each other the entire time? Opie & Anthony played this awhile back & it is pretty funny. Ebert definitely has the sharper wit as Siskel just throws fat jokes at Ebert the whole time.

Here is an outtake reel to tide you over: http://www.rockandrollbadboy.com/vid...d-ebert-argue/
WARNING: They curse like sailors, and if you're a Protestant, you may be a bit shocked.

Great video. I had heard the audio before on Opie & anthony but never saw the video. Appears either Gene was hitting the sauce or he was getting his pain meds early.
O&A played a longer version where they start insulting each other which is also pretty good. Wonder if there is a video for that?

the clip isn't really supposed to be funny but more of a glimpse behind-the-scenes of Siskel and Ebert's relationship and how their off-air personalities are quite different that what I would have expected or how I remembered.

As to their relationship on and off screen...this article is excellent. It's focused on Ebert, but discusses at length he and Gene's relationship...

Funny clip.
Yet, after Siskel's death, Ebert produced on their show one of the most touching tributes that I've ever seen. It was heartfelt, yet avoided any mawkish sentimentality. I wish I taped it back then.

It explains why the Siskel movie reviews stopped being featured in the Tribune in the 90's.
I always wondered why they would put his reviews in little colums and have some no-name review with more space.

That clip is from 1987, a time when Siskel and Ebert's competitive dislike of each other was still in full swing. In the '90s, though, they both softened and became more friendly towards each other, which is why Ebert genuinely missed Siskel when he died in 1999.
However, that competitive dislike is probably, more than anything, what made their review show the most popular one around. It was very entertaining to watch them argue about movies. And the show without Siskel has not been nearly as good.
