Director/Actor/Actress that guarantee your interest
 

Hey, I'm relatively new here, and I super duper apologize if this has been done (which is probably has been beaten to death.) But anyways, I think it'd be an interesting "getting to know your fellow posters' tastes" thing, because so far I don't really know anyone here...

So if you like, put the director, actor, and actress that you're pretty much guaranteed to buy their stuff on DVD or fork over cash to check out in the theater. Here's my 3:

1. Director - Paul Thomas Anderson - He only has about 4 films (and a few shorts) but everything I've seen from this man is amazing. I am eagerly awaiting his next project. And if anyone knows what that is, by all means post it! This guy got me to like Adam Sandler. And that's incredible.

2. Actor - Bill Murray - I know some people who can't stand this guy, but I love him. I freakin' love when he plays the sarcastic, snarky characters. But he can do serious and quirky as well. Ghostbusters turned me on to this guy, but I really love him in Lost in Translation and The Life Aquatic. Hope he has many years ahead of him.

3. Actress - Jennifer Connelly - I absolutely adore this woman. After I watched House of Sand and Fog, Waking The Dead, and Requiem for a Dream, I quickly built up my collection of the rest of her DVDs (minus Of Love and Shadows... one day I will give in, but it just looks so bad.) Not all of her old stuff is that good, but I simply can't turn her down.

That's not to say that I enjoy every feature directed by, or starring the above people. It's just that whenever I see their name attached to a film that I haven't yet seen...it peaks my interest. To illustrate what I'm saying: I haven't enjoyed most of DeNiro's recent work. However, everytime I see that he's the star of whatever soon to be released feature...I become interested in it. I'll look it up, I'll follow it's box-office, I'll read the reviews, because based on his history, I never know when he'll end up in a role that I shouldn't miss.
