Me and a group of friends are going tonight, $5.50 since it's a weeknight, woohoo.

I want to see it, but I'll probably wait for a Monday show or something. I don't want to be in a theater full of internet kids this weekend.

Yeah, I'd hate to watch a movie surrounded by people who hang out on internet forums all day.

There's a 10 PM showing tonight, at a theater pretty close to me. I think my wife and I will either see this tonight or tomorrow.

That's really the only way I can see this being enjoyed, really. It's kind of a drag, so I imagine it'd be improved if you're in a crowd of excited, pumped people.

I'm going to see it tonight, at ten. I just got home from Monster House and didn't expect I'd be going back there tonight. Going to see WTC tomorrow, too. Wow..

We're going for some drinks in an hour or two in which I plan to get an Irish Car Bomb or two inside of me so I can "enjoy" myself at the movie.

Just got home from the 10pm. I don't know what you were expecting Donnacha, but this one delivered everything I was hoping for. I wanted motherfucking snakes and I got them. I thought they didn't go too far into parody and were actually pretty restrained with the humour (which there was a lot of, but the audience ate it up and it was well done). Lots of good "boo" scares and cool snake action.

Basically Snakes + Tits + Gore + Sam Jackson + Swearing + Thrills + Tension = Good Summer Movie. One of the more satisfying summer flicks of late in fact. The only part I didn't really like was Keenan Thompson in the finale - if he had reeled it back a bit, it would have been better, but overall, for what it was, I loved it. (although Keenan's line about his brother was pretty damn funny).

If you like Creature Features, this is a must see. Believe the hype :P

I just got back from the 10:00 show. Snakes on a Plane is was one of the funniest movies I have seen in a long time. It was exactly what I was hoping for, a dumb movie that was very entertaining.

There were about 30-40 people in the audience and they broke out into applause a few times. (It was loudest when Sam Jackson utters his trademark line).

The movie is certainly worth the price of admission, but it should be seen with a crowd if possible. This is coming from someone who despises crowded theaters.

I will be buying the DVD and I can only hope that there will be some sort of ridiculous sequel in the future.

Saw it. Fucking loved it. I went in with my expectations in check (and a good beer buzz), and the movie delivered the goods. I think I had a crowd near 100, and they went nuts for just about everything, especially Jackson's trademark line. I also loved the music video by Cobra Starship at the end (or is it Starship Cobra?) .

I will say that if you aren't with the right audience and haven't been following this like we net geeks have, the movie might leave something to be desired. But hey, it's been a while since there's been a hardcore rated R action movie complete with blood, gore, scares, sex, tits and ass nudity, and not to mention a fine collection of women for eye candy. Some outsiders might like it. I don't see this movie making much, but I sure as hell hope it gets midnight showings on special occasions, because I would line up for the crowd experience I just had again!

Back from the 10:00 sneak preview thingy... and I got to say, echoing nearly everyone here, SoaP is perfect. Its exactly what you expect, nudity, violence, comedy, cursing, violence, and Samuel L. Jackson being a badass.

Definitely have to see it with the right audience. My theater had I'd guesstimate 200 or so, maybe a little more, and when they cheered for the Tenacious D movie preview I knew this was going to be crazy. Cheering, yelling, clapping almost at every tit shot, profanity, and snake bite, the crowd definitely made the show. About half of the audience gave the movie a standing ovation during the credits. People were yelling after the movie, drivers honking their horns as they left the theater... it reminded me of a football game more than a movie.

I loved it, but I really don't have any idea what it would be like with an audience who didn't "get it"

Fuck yes, I was on the fence about this, but tits, swearing, gore, good R rated summer madness. Im in there. Some one told me that the theater near my house is giving away SoaP bars of soap.

I just got back from the ten o'clock show, about forty minutes ago. I loved it. It was everything I expected it to be, and more. There was only about thirty people in the theatre, but almost everyone went crazy during the movie, cheering, yelling and laughing hysterically.

Went to the 10pm showing and.....

...yay! Worth the hype. Crap acting, bad stereotypes, bad SFX, great bad one-liners, gore, sex, kickboxing-everything! Just hilarious!! Giving it a grade is stupid, but I will (C+), but new. cult. film.

Long live bad B movies.

AMAZING, movie was everything I wanted and more. Horrible but in a great way.

I thought this was the perfect combination of big mindless action film and b-horror movie thrills. It knows when to be cheesy, but it doesn't overdo it. I think people going in expecting some overly campy thing to rag on MST3K style will be disappointed. The filmmakers are clearly in on the joke, but they don't treat the whole movie like a joke.

They definitely have fun with the ridiculous premise without succumbing to the trap of trying to make an intentionally bad movie. Ridiculous plot points happen throughout the film, but the characters react in relatively plausible, intelligent ways. The thing is, it's actually a much better film than a lot of the 'serious' attempts to do similar films. The 'plane in peril' action is much better than things like Con Air or Passenger 57, and it's a more effective 'animals gone amok' thriller than the Anaconda films or Deep Blue Sea.

As I said, the plot points are ridiculous. In a lesser movie some of the stuff would be intolerable. I mean, come on... These things are hella dumb, but you just roll with it.

Went to the Midnight showing (our theater had one at 10 and midnight).

Awesome, absolutely awesome. People were cheering, laughing, applauding, jumping up and down, screaming, yelling at the screen, quoting lines, everything, it was one of the best movie going experiences I've had. Hell people even kept quiet and got into the suspense in parts.

I got everything I wanted out of the movie and more - it was hokey, bad, and oddly enough - exactly what it should have been. Great on it's own, see it with a good audience, it's an absolute blast.

Our theater was at about 80% capacity for the 10pm show, so there had to be at least 250 people there. During Sam Jackson's famous line, at least 20% of the theater jumped up and screamed along with it. Incredible experience. The crowd cheered every boob, bite, and bump, and ate up every bit of hokey drama. My most enjoyable movie-going experience in a long time.

This movie was as dumb as a sack of rocks... yet it was the most fun I've had at the movies in a looong time.

This is a movie that you must see in a theater with lots of people, otherwise it just wouldn't work the same way and be as fun. Forget about watching it on DVD, even seeing it in a theater that's just half-full would be a let-down.

I want to add that this was the only movie I been to where most of the audience talked throughout the film, and it didn't matter one bit. In fact, that actually made it more fun.

The only real criticism I have would be that they used too much cheap-looking CGI - if the were going the cheap route, cheap practical effects would've been a lot better.

My friends, their friends, and I took up almost an entire row inside the theater. The theater was barely 20% capacity for the 10pm showing tonight, which is quite depressing as the film needs to be seen with the crowd. Luckilly, the people who were in the theater (with the exception of a few) were just as big of nerds as the group I was with. That could easily be told by the cheering made during the Borat and Tenacious D... trailers.

Snakes on a Plane is a god-awful film and there's no fucking doubt about it. The screenplay is crap with plot holes one could drive a 747 through, the acting is plain shit and is just cringeworthy, and the production values are that of a terrible direct-to-video flick. Yet, it's the most fun I've ever been able to have in the theater in quite a long while. It's a b-movie made to the finest degree and the crowd ate it up. We were laughing, applauding, cheering, yelling at the scream, and jumping out of our seats. The movie is the very definition of a theatrical thrill ride. When Sam Jackson delivered the infamous line, my entire group said it right along with him as we then broke into cheering and applause (and yes, a few of us were a bit drunk).

But as mentioned before, if you don't see it in the right mood or with the right group, you're not going to like it. It's not a film that was made to win awards and be liked by critics. It was simply made to entertain. And goddamnit, it entertained the living hell out of me.

However, some people did tell a few of the groups that were scattered around the theater to be quiet during the movie. What did we do in response? We became louder. Granted, I would've killed a person during any other movie, but Snakes on a Plane thrives off it's audience participation. And it's fucking Snakes on a Plane, what the hell were those people expecting?
