Mal (from Serenity) vs. Han Solo: who would win?
 

In terms of the better ship, nothing beats the Falcon. In terms of crew, Mal has a few smart people but Han has a Wookie. Mal seems to have a better sense of mind than Han though, not to mention a healthy grasp on the fact that he is a smuggle and will do what he has to do to get out of a situation. But still, Han is Han.

Mal would shoot first, so I voted for him.

Sorry I love Mal and Firefly but Han would own him.

That's what I am thinking too.

Now we're comparing characters from Star Wars and Serenity. Oh well, since it's a lost cause, I might as well participate.

Since Han is my second favorite character in my favorite movies, I'll go with him.

As long as we're not including Han from Return of the Jedi, I'll go with him. Also, Han aggressively pursued Leia, whereas Mal has been on the same ship with Inara for how long and has yet to even wink at her like Han did at the end of ANH.

Han would win.

However, in a situation where they had to talk themselves out of a problem, Mal would win hands down, mostly because he has Whedon instead of Lucas writing his dialogue.

While Mal can be a totall badass Han's sense of self-preservation ius unmatched. And you don't fuck with a Wookie.

In a fight, I have to go with Han. He does have a Wookie.

If I had to hire one of them to smuggle something, I'm taking Mal. He seems to have better reasons for dropping his shipments. Besides, he has in fact been boarded without pansying out and dropping them.

I love Mal.. I love Han... WHY MAKE ME CHOOSE?! I can't wait till someone starts an eroctic fan fiction so I can shake my head at the world.

Mal beats Han in a quick draw anyday. And, he wouldn't shoot you under a table, he'd put it right in your forehead.

After seeing Serenity tonight, I can barely remember WHO Han Solo is or what he's ever done to be put in a same league with Mal.

For those who think that Han would win, I suggest you watch the Firefly ep "War Stories", where the Russian <Spoiler>tortures Mal and cuts off his ear</Spoiler>, or "The Train Job", where Mal <Spoiler>deliberately kicks a tied-up guy into the engines.</Spoiler> No way Han holds a candle.

Han Solo is an icon. Malcolm Reynolds is a smart, effective, sometimes ruthless smuggler - and one of a few survivors of a brutal battle in a brutal war. He's the real deal. Han's not a bad choice, but Mal is the guy I'd want smuggling my merchandise.

Han is the original badass smuggler. Mal is Joss Whedon's copy of Han. The original is always better than the copy. Just go out on the streets, randomly ask people who Han Solo is, then ask them who Mal is. Case closed. :p
