Wish Corpse Bride was higher, I wonder if it'll experience a Sat jump similar to most family films?

Where's History of Violence?

Wow, Flightplan did a lot better than I thought, and Corpse Bride did a fair bit worse. And Roll Bounce will actually make about $6 million, which is $4 million more than I thought.

Again though, very strange that people actually wanted to see Flightplan.

I don't find it at all strange that Flightplan is opening well. It's a thriller that was marketed pretty well and it stars Jodie Foster, whom most adults like as an actress.

I think it was the heavy advertising that pushed Flight Plan out the gate. Corpse got a similar push in different venues and outlets. But I though Flight plan was plastured more with tv ads. Guess that's my view of it.

Either way, it's not terrible numbers. Looks like it will pull in about 19-21 million for the weekend. I was expecting it to do 23 or so.

A History of Violence is in very limited release this weekend (goes wide next weekend). Friday estimates generally only cover the top 10, which would be near impossible for AHOV to do in just 14 theaters (vs. 3,424 for Flight Plan).

Gotcha, I saw the reviews and figured it's out everywhere.

Flightplan made $8.6 mil on Friday, jumped to $10.6 mil on Saturday. Looks like it's gonna have similar success like Red Eye.

Was looking for A History of Violence, but I guess I'll have to wait till next week. In the meantime saw Flightplan instead. and will check out Corpse Bride sometime during the week.

I can't believe The Forgotten 2...err Flight Plan outgrossed The Corpse Bride.

Looking forward to A History of Violence.

Not bad for Corpse Bride. I've heard it's budget was only $30 Million, so it shouldn't have any problems making that back.

Definately looking forward to History of Violence as well. I thought the trailer looked pretty good, but I'm still suprised at how good the reviews have been.

another for Corpse Bride, it's a very un-Hollywood-like movie, so $20M on first weekend was more than I would have expected. Woohoo!
