I noticed a few days ago that Wise's birthday was listed at DVD Price Search. September 10, 1914. Rest in Peace.

Well, you could say:

Robert Wise directs Paris' escape scene from Helen of Troy (1955). From left to right: Brigitte Bardot, Jacques (Jack) Sernas, Robert Wise.

R.I.P. Robert Wise
The Val Lewton laserdisc boxset had Robert Wise's commentary track on "The Body Snatcher" so I assume it will also be on the upcoming DVD boxset.

And I've just seen The Day the Earth Stood Still for the very first time last night. Very well done sci-fi. I'm amazed how fresh it looks (the special effect is a little bit outdated but that's about all) after more than five decades.

ps. Brigitte Bardot in Helen of Troy

As did I. It's sad that Robert Wise, Jerry Goldsmith, and James Doohan have all passed away recently.
