So this is the sign of the end of the world? So the plague in Europe during the 17th century (or whenever it was) and/or the first or second world war wasn't bad enough, but this is?

Anyways, the catastrophy and the people with all the guns got me thinking of War of the Worlds (the scene with the car).

That's what I've been thinking of as well. That film and it's theme of "Modern Day American Refugees" is eerily timely.

Yeah, what a kind and loving god. No wonder I'm an Atheist.

You are entitle to serve your God, and I will most definitely serve mine. That is the primary reason God has given each individual in life a choice to whom they prefer to believe and worship. And you know what? It can be many more years, or even decades before his return, and nobody in this world know the exact time but God himself. God has a purpose for everything he does, whether it's negative, or positive, and nobody knows, but him. God created this world, and most certainly he has the power to end it.... on his terms, no one else....Were living in the end times.

Think Hurricane Katrina was bad? we haven't seen nothing yet

As an Atheist, how do you think you were born? God created man, and woman, and everything else of this world. Not endeavor to convert you or anything, it just a serious thought. The devil sure didn't created Adam & Eve.

You gotta be kidding me, that's the requirements of being atheist, not to believe in the stork. Fuck that asshole and his shitty on my car

I was born through the power of some doctor and an action 9 months previous that was done by my parents without the use of a rubber condom.

I don't think I ever claimed that some devil created me either... that's part of being atheist... I don't believe in him either.

Wow, this god of yours sounds awsome and all loving. Look, I figure religions were great for their hay day because they were good ways to control masses and instill moral guidelines to a society that was fucking each others wives while stealing their food and killing their buddies (They are very good at multi-tasking). Hell, for some religions it also allowed them to stop their people from dying from eating poorly cooked pork. But all this end of the world bullshit is silly crap and makes god sound like a little whinny kid who didn't get it his way.

"Hey, I'm all loving and forgiving... but man, I'm just going to flush this project down the drain." -God

Well first of all, you may need to censor your excessive use of profane language in the future before DVD Talk Administrator take action. It's totally against forum policy.

Why do appear to have so much hostility, and hatred? I can detect there is a personal issue (s) or trauma that your surpressing, that's making you have such a negative outlook on life. And just what do you actually believe in, if not God or the Devil, but than whom? because when you die, either your soul will ascent to heaven with God, or descent to hell with The Devil, according to your spiritual beliefs.

Since your an Atheist period, your soul will be descent to hell, at death, whether you believe in the Devil or not, it doesn't matter. You do not have to be a believer in Satan, for your soul to be given to the him if your an Atheist, or unsaved. You are considered a lost soul, which ALL lost souls belong to Satan when you die.... he's real too. So let's finally conclude this discussion, and proceed back to topic.

Actually, it's not. We can say anything we want along to express ourselves on the forum. Infact, they just reccently removed the word filters that prevented us from doing so. You see FUCK instead of ***** for that very reason. We just can't use it to attack others. So if God was a member here, I can't say god, you're a Fuck'n asshole

So... do you also have personal issues since you have a negative outlook on life? I mean, you are the one that is claiming that these are the end of days and that gods wrath is at hand. Sounds like a pretty negative outlook to me.

And just what do you actually believe in, if not God or the Devil, but than whom?
Maybe you're not getting what an Atheist is... I don't believe any of it. Because of that lack of belief of a mystical "good", By definition I do not believe in the mystical "bad". I do not believe in anything of that nature. Nor do I believe in buddha, Ganish, Greek Gods, etc. Do you honestly think that atheist worship satan?

From where I'm standing, someone who has to depend on some fairy tale to get through the hardships of life by throwing the blame to a devil and lack enough self confidence that they need to depend on "god" to get through the day is someone far weaker.

What happens when we die is something I do not know for certain. You also do not know. I have little facts. Our bodies stop functioning, blood stops pumping through our vains and our mind is not given the proper fuel to run. Thus it stops operating. Our thinking conscience stops and there is nothing. Much like a car that nolong runs. You become worm food. I do not believe in a soul.

While I realize people need religion as a moral guideline and as a support when life isn't going their way. I'm not a very moral person. Nor do I need some orginized religion(occult) telling me what I should and shouldn't do. I'll decide that on my own.

Can you provide me concrete proof that the devil, god and all that other junk is real? I didn't think so. If you are going to ask me to prove that he isn't, don't bother. It's like me trying to prove that Zombies aren't real. It's the person who is making the claim of them being real to prove it.

Was the original dawn of the dead directed by Zak Snyder or John Carpenter?

Actually reminds me more of Godzilla. The destruction looks like he just came ashore and stomped on everything in his path. Throw in some burning buildings from his breath. Add to that the "on-scene" reporters describing the destruction just like Raymond Burr.

Given that this isn't a move discussion, I can't see any reason to leave this thread open. If you want to discuss the hurricane, try the Other Forum or the Politics Forum.
