Revisiting Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance

I understand this thread should belong to International DVD forum but since OldBoy director Park Chanwook's Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance is finally coming out in US theatres (very limited, I would assume), I decided to post here.

I have seen this film before since it has been out on Region3 dvds since but I decided to watch it again recently. I remember the 1st time I saw this film, as the end credits started rolling, that I sat motionless and absolutely drained fm the viewing experience. I felt that, althought the movie was well-made, incredibly acted, and kept me glued, it was an experience I didn't wish to go through again. Though there are no bad guys in this movie, the downward spiral that the characters go through because of their decisions (whether it be revenge, love, survival and desperation) left me feeling incredibly hopeless. Yet it also kept me mesmerized throughout as this film is unpredictable and the characters were very well portrayed. In other words, you understand why the people in this film were compelled or chose to do what they did.

Though this may be a little-known film outside of the Asian filmlovers, I am interested to hear what others who have seen it think. I read some of the reviews (in IMDB) and wasn't surprised at some of the comments...incredible movie but left you feeling empty inside.

Not really, since it concerns the film and not a DVD release of it.
