Coolness Test: Sam Jackson VS. John Travolta
 

Okay...honestly, we all know this is no contest. But me and my girlfriend were talking about this, and I have to set her straight. She says John Travolta, I say Sam Jackson. To make things fair, we'll use Samuel L. Jackson and John Travolta at their absolute COOLEST.

Who do you think is the coolest? Give reasons why if you are passionate about such an important subject.

I cannot vote, because I don't know that either one of them is cool. They've both played cool characters, but I haven't seen coolness from the actors themselves.

neither. Sam Jackson gets some "cool" roles, but I don't think he's a badass.......and John Travolta is a loser.

Because I've seen Saturday Night Fever and I'm not a fan of Sammy One-Note, who not only failed at being a cool Shaft(!) but totally, completely fucked up being a cool Jedi.

I was thinking toss-up, but then I realized that Sam Jackson never appeared in any of these films:

Travolta loses coolness points for wearing a wig. He was on Letterman with a Caesar haircut, and then a few nights later he was at the Oscars with long slicked back hair.

Neither. Samuel L. Jackson plays the same exact character in every movie he's in and yet he's never cool. John Travolta only has a little bit more range than Sam does but "cool" is not the word I would use to describe him.

personally, I think neither. but Travolta is so not cool, that I voted for Jackson by default.

Travolta gets cool points for banging Kelly Preston and being in a John Woo film... but he still isn't cooler than Sam "the Man".

I went with Travolta solely because of the "at their COOLEST" criteria. Travolta has put out a lot of shit since his heyday, but I think he was at a level Jackson hasn't reached yet, and probably never will.
