From the creators of the Blair Witch Project: Altered

Not much info but I'm willing to be there will be a trailer soon. Rumor has it there is a nasty scene involving one of the characters doing something that's suppose to be pretty nuts, yeah I know, It could be anything and it's not very exciting to hear at this point.

Here's a link to the offical site:

I enjoyed Blair Witch. Granted, this could be nothing like it and complete crap, but we'll see.

How was that for adding to the topic? Yeah, I'm good.

You said it. BWP was the most overrated piles of crap I've seen in a long time. Cool ending and marketing campaign though. I can't believe the amount of people that thought the footage was real! Because as we all know, the cops release all video evidence theatrically...

Looking at the website, this movie looks like a cross between WAR OF THE WORLDS and the "Gimp" scene in PULP FICTION.

While I loathed Blair Witch (utter crapfest, but an impressive marketing feat), I look forward to this and hope they redeem themselves.

Hopefully this'll be more like BWP and less like Book of Shadows

Oh how I despised the execution of BWP, but loved the marketing and the concept. This looks interesting (from what little is known).

I really liked Blair Witch Project, and enjoy repeat viewings.

Glad to see them sorta' back on their feet. They really got financially screwed with BWP's success. Grant it, it's probably their fault for not making the right demands. But it's disheartening to see someone go blue collar after making a movie that profits nearly 120mil (or something like that). Google it if you want more details.

Hope Altered is good. Might not be. I'm not getting all excited about seeing it. But I'm glad to see they're back into making movies...

I would completely recommend this film to whoever is looking for a quality picture to see...

I was exspecting a polished turd.

I was impressed enough that I went out and purchased the film right after renting it from BlockBuster.

And if you were wondering how often I've done this...

The last film I did the same was...

BRICK

Cheers,
C.Howard

Usually when I see a very good movie, the creator gets automatic subsequent get-out-of-crap-free passes from me. In this case, it's the reverse. Book of Shadows is the WORST movie I have ever seen in theatres (and I saw Battlefield Earth, Wagons East, etc). I'm boycotting these idiots until at least 2011.

F'ers. My cousing caught an early screening of the original BWP and he immediately called me afterwards and said I HAD to see this creepy movie. So we went to see it not knowing it was all made up. My buddy and I were freaked out.

I guess I was the only one who liked Book of Shadows. Nothing spectacular, but it was a moody, paranoid piece of film making.

Thanks for bumping this thread as I hadn't heard of this movie before now. I put it on my wish list since I enjoyed the Blair Witch Project immensely.

the original blair witch writers/directors had nothing to do with book of shadows. they get a writing credit simply because the movie refers to characters from the original movie, but they did not write or direct it. the movie studio forced the sequel without their approval/help.

Blair Witch was horrid and I laughed at all who bought into the "its a true story internet hype" - Back then, so many had no problem stating they believed it, now, ya cant hardly find any of them t admit it! Its like NOBODY "ever" believed it! LOL!

I am proud to be outside the norm when it comes to Bookf Of Shadows. It reminds me of Session 9 except on a more visceral level with its imagery. I'll def' gives this a rental!

Blair Witch - 4/10
Book of Shadows - 7/10
Session 9 8/10

The creators of Blair Witch had almost nothing to do with the sequel. They didn't write it, they didn't direct it. I think they were even on record as feeling that a sequel was a bad idea.

ummm... back to Altered. It was actually pretty good, not great but at least it does something a little different with the genre.

It's funny to read love for SHADOWS...

Even the director hates the finished product.
