How about that! I unsuccessfully tried to find this thread just a few days ago. Great list.

Re: 80's Post-Apocalypse

Of the ones mentioned I have:

Mad Max
The Road Warrior
Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome
Damnation Alley
Escape from New York
The Terminator
Steel Dawn
Cyborg
Hardware
plus Nemesis
plus Metalstorm
plus The Quiet Earth
plus Testament and The Day After, for good measure

It's a decent genre if done right, if not it's horrible.

Re: 80's Post-Apocalypse

Wow, this thread was started in the '80s and is still going strong...

What about '80s pre-apocalypse films?

For those who love this subject I highly, HIGHLY recommend the recent release called Turbo Kid. It somehow captures the entire feel of those old 80's movies without being cheesy or parody.

I just watched this last night and yes it did influence the Mad Max series.

"Blood of Heroes" should be on that list. It was released in Australia in 1989 (came to the U.S. in February 1990).
