Class assignment movie association
I am taking a summer Business Speech class and I am participating in a small group speech. Our speech topic is "How to start a Small Business."
My section deals with the different types of small business ownership as listed below, and I am trying to think of movies and scenes/shots that show an example of something for each of the below:
Sole Proprietorship - Indivually owned and operated
Partnerships - The same as Sole Proprietorship except that the business is owned/operated by two or more people.
Corporations - A legally separate entity from the owners with no legal/financial liability for the individuals who own/operate the business. Usually owned by stockholders.
Limited Liability Company(LLC) - Less liability for the owners with the tax benefits of a partnership.
Franchise - Purchases/licensed rights to a brand name, but individually owned and operated.
I was thinking a screenshot of Kevin Spacey in his burger outfit for the Franchise example...or perhaps something from SuperSize Me.
Can you guys help me think of screenshots in movies that I can use to make some slides and talk about for my three minute section of the speech?
Thanks.

Excuse my lameness...but I have never seen Wall Street. Can someone give me a brief description of what that scene may show regarding the corporation business structure? I assume it is from the stockholder angle, right?
I think I might be screwed on LLC...since that is so hard to show. I may just pull a Ben Stein and monotone my way through that portion.

You can always show the Umbrella Corp from Resident Evil for the "Evil Corporation"
As for Sole Proprietor - Jerry Maguire
Also, the Maltese Falcon, it goes from Partnership to Sole Proprietor as triggered by a dissolution event (they kill Archer)

That is along the lines of something I want for Corporation, but maybe you guys can help me find this movie to explain corporations.
Something is in my brain to the effect of the following:
Some kind of board meeting or confrontation over a corporation that is doing to make money that is just business. The Umbrella Corporation might be pretty good, but is there a particular shot that might show the depths that a corporation might go to make money?

In Wall Street, Michael Douglas' character has been buying up shares in a paper corporation. He gives a speech at the shareholder's meeting where he discusses how the corporation has tons of Vice Presidents that do not seem to be doing anything. He talks about how the shareholders are the owners of the company and that they need to demand more from their officers. He then gives the famous speech how Greed is good. How greed will save the company and will save America. Buy or rent the DVD. It's worth the time.

jerry maguire'd be a good one, as would ghosbusters. i guess there's always pirates of silicon valley, but i don't know if it'd be easily recognized.
i think you should go with an eddie murphy theme. lol.
boomerang (corporate, corporate take over),
trading places (wall street)
coming to america (franchise, and the remnants of randolph and mortimer from trading places)
daddy day care (partnership i believe, possibly sole proprietor)

They got the Big Mac, I got the Big Mick. We both got two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles and onions, but their buns have sesame seeds. My buns have no seeds."

bigdan - shhh! no one has to know! i think it'd convey a franchise idea to an audience, or, it's a sole proprietorship. which i suppose it really is. le sigh.

Thanks for all your suggestions so far. I am absorbing it all to make my presentation.
I am currently limited to only screenshots since I don't have any video capture capability. I will try to take pictures of shots that show the basics of the type of business, and I will extrapolate on the concept a little further and how the movie shot relates to the business type. Plus, I wouldn't know how to incorporate the videos into PowerPoint anyways.

<bump>......
Just think guys...once we get this one over with I will have to start preparing for my persuasive speech.
...And it will be over....
Converting from full screen viewing to widescreen viewing.
That one should be easy and fun since I do that almost every day around friends and coworkers.

I wonder if the best place to find an LLC would be a law firm. anywhere from ally mcbeal to the devil's advocate. but i can't say for sure.
