2 films from yesterday:

Didn't realize it was Gillian Anderson for a few minutes in "The Last King of Scotland", and also finally figured out that Maribel Verdu (in Pan's Labyrinth) was the same actress who played a very sensual woman in "Y tu mama tambien".

As many times as I've seen it I've never noticed it. The only one I can think of right now: One of the two cops that chases Jake and Elwood in Blues Brothers through the mall would go on to play "X" (Mulder's informant in the second season) in the X-Files T.V. series.

I watched American Splendor a few times before realizing that the Nerd guy was that comedian who always wears a truckers hat and is on 30 rock now.

Another VM cast member! Jason Dohring, who plays Logan, is the guy in Deep Impact who told Elijah Wood that he was going to have lots of sex now that he was famous.

If you have access to the Criterion DVD give the Hunter S. Thompson Commentary a listen. It's hilarious listening to the female moderator trying to explain to Thompson who Tobey Maguire is and all the while listening to Thompson make fun of how dopey Maguire is. Good stuff.

Just watched Heat again recently.

Never realized President Palmer (24) was in it. I like that actor.

She was also the girl that Ally McBeal adopted in the last season of that show.

Enemy of the State has been on a lot lately, and I didn't realize until now Jack Black was in it.

I remember being surprised when I realized that Liam Neeson was in Krull. Robbie Coltrane (Hagrid in the Harry Potter movies) was also in it.

All the same woman. Jenette Goldstein is talented.
Not only very nice, but very short. This was at MegaCon years back with AGuyNamedMike.

Mark Ralston (Drake) was there as well.

Call me jealous.

That would have been awesome to meet actors (any) from "Aliens".

along those lines ...

We all know Hulk Hogan was in the seminal "Suburban Commando", but who remembers the emotional performance given by the Undertaker that nearly stole the show?

He was also the head "Sister" in The Shawshank Redemption.

I caught some Lawrence Fishburne when I re-watched Cherry 2000 on Encore the other day (brief scene at the beginning).

"Sex in the City"'s own Cynthia Nixon has a small role in Amadeus.

Now that Hugh Laurie is such a big domestic TV star, it is always fun to catch him in older roles like Sense and Sensibility and Peter's Friends.

I've seen The King of Comedy about a dozen times, and just recognized Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio(sp?) as an extra.

Am I the only one who recognizes Gina Gershon as one of the stuck up rich girls in PRETTY IN PINK?

She has no lines, but she nods to everything Kate Vernon says (the new Battlestar Galactica & Malcolm X).

I was searching on youtube for cannibal corpse clips, and found out that they are the band featured in Ace Ventura Pet Detective (theres a funny deleted clip that actually has Carey do some death metal style singing.

Yeah, that was featured on an episode of Scrubs.

One that I remembered when I first watched The Office was that Dwight (Rainn Wilson) was the guy in the first season of Dark Angel that had the mechanical exoskeleton legs that he gave to Logan. He was also one of the aliens in Galaxy Quest.
