My sister knows this guy who got like eight preview passes. They had a special showing the 7th here in Omaha. I was really lucky to have my sister give me two tickets for it.

Its an amazing movie. If Batman and Robin killed the franchise, this restarts it throughly.

Scott, you start this thread, seen the movie and this is all you can say... come on, what's your opinion of the film?

Since it is suppose to have a better script than Star Wars Episode 3, I am hoping people give this a chance and recognize it as Quality fare.

Are you kidding? I'm not bucking the trend: this fucker rocks.

It is a WONDERFUL comic book adaptation. Solidly acted by all, and sharply directed by Nolan. And the set-up for the sequel is killer stuff.

It's super-dark too, which should make the comic snobs wet their underoos.

Thanks for caring. *wipes tear*

I like Bale's thoughts on ideas for the sequel:
...I just really think it would be nice to come up with some kind of R-rated version, too, like a movie that is at one time PG and R, where you do two different edits for it.

Nice interview regarding the score:

http://www.james-newton-howard.com/m...atman_sfx.html

What bugs me, though, is the mention that they composed around two hours worth of music. This bothers me because the score CD is said to only be 60 minutes long. Would have been nice to hear everything they came up with. Hopefully another music CD will be released shortly after.

Well, with any film score, rarely do you hear every bit of music available, unless it's a popular scorel ike LoTR or Star Wars. Most film score CDs are much shorter then the what's in the movie.

Either way, I can't wait to see this. Good reviews make me happy.

I know.... I know... Still wish we'd get it all.

And, yes, June 15th cannot arrive soon enough.

Here is a list of the theaters that are showing Batman Begins in IMAX. Looks like King of Prussia is on the list.

Haven't seen it yet, but all I have to say it I can't fucking wait!!!

Plus look at this cast, its amazing! Shit I would go to watch Michael Caine read through a phone book if I could, this guy will make an awesome Alfred. Plus Gary Oldman as Gordon, and Ken Watanabe too, great strong cast (besides Holmes who I won't judge till I see it) but pokies are good!!!

Christian Bale .... Bruce Wayne/Batman
Michael Caine .... Alfred Pennyworth
Liam Neeson .... Henri Ducard
Morgan Freeman .... Lucius Fox
Gary Oldman .... Lt. James Gordon
Ken Watanabe .... Ra's Al Ghul
Katie Holmes .... Rachel Dawes
Cillian Murphy .... Dr. Jonathan Crane/The Scarecrow
Tom Wilkinson .... Carmine Falcone
Rutger Hauer .... Richard Earle

Spoiler:
Sadly, Ken Watanabe onlhas 5-10 minutes worth of screentime.
I do hope he land in another big movie soon (preferably a drama so people don't assume he's just some action import).

I'm really considering having this be my first IMAX experience (at King Of Prussia). I'll probably watch it at my normal movie theatre first though. One thing I like about this new Batman flick is that it's got an aspect ratio of 2.35:1 instead of 1.85:1, which was always my grudge with the previous installments. This just seemed like the kind of franchise to benefit from a wider screen. How does this bode for IMAX?

I can feel you guys excitement. Yes, it is indeed awesome. There's no glaring flaws here. If anything, someone will nitpick it, and stupidly drop it down a score or so. I can't wait to see it again. I thought it would be cool seeing it a week and a day before its released (at a preview screening here in Omaha), but I can't talk about anything because I and everyone else don't want it to be spoiled.

I'm pretty sure they'll keep the aspect ratio, as WB did with Matrix and Polar Express. I just means that the Imax screen won't be completely used, you'll get the right aspect ratio, and it'll still be huge.

I just got back from seeing this movie at the Director's Guild today. The movie is great! I would have to say it is the best of all the Batman movies, no comparision to the previous ones. I will even go as far as saying this is the best comic book super hero film I have seen. Absolutely loved it, thinking about seeing it again tomorrow night. One other thing, Christian Bale made an excellent Batman.

I caught one of the first critics screenings a month or so ago, and the movie actually received a standing ovation. And it was more than warranted.

Nice try.

These types of movies usually get a LOT of anticipation on movie forums. I expected even more of Batman Begins since its directed by forum favorite Chris Nolan. And plenty of people HAVE seen the film.
