What is this movie??

I am trying to remember a movie I saw as a kid in the 70's. It was a horror movie on tv, and it was about a couple that bought a house. The owner told them never to open a grate that was on a wall. Well of course the lady of the house opened the grate. Her husband was not home and when the house was dark, these two creatures came out of the hole behind the open grate and to make a long story short, they got the women and dragged her down into the hole. They were afraid of light and the lady kept trying to get away from them but she had taken a sleeping pill or something to that effect. She grabbed a camera while she was being dragged and took their picture. That is all that I remember and I have been trying for years to remember the name! Can anyone help?

Sounds like "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" with Kim Darby and Jim Hutton.

Not a genius...I've just retained the memory of a movie that scared the shit out of me when I was a kid. Between "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" and another one from the same time period called "Trilogy of Terror", I still jump into bed from three feet away to this day.

LOL LOL I also remember Trilogy of Terror! Remember the noise that little demon made as stalked the woman (can't remember her name... maybe karen black?) with that huge knife that he shoved under the door trying to stab her? My hubby will come up to the bathroom door late at night when I am in there and start making that noise to scare the crap out of me! He loves to tease me about that movie.

This sounds like a movie I'd like. Is it out on DVD?

The only place I saw Trilogy of Terror on DVD was Half.com and it was like $150.00 or so. The VHS version was less expensive. With Don't Be Afraid of the Dark. I found it on VHS at half.com at an expensive price and I have not found it on a commercially released DVD yet. I just bid on an Ebay auction for an "imported DVD" (does that mean 'home made copy'?)of Don't Be Afraid of the Dark. It was only $4.99 so I thought I would take a chance. Both of those movies are scary! I noticed that there is a Trilogy of Terror II, but I have not seen that one.

Holy cow, I had no idea Trilogy of Terror was selling for that much. I might have to part with mine.
