I'm just glad Joel Schumacher isn't involved with the series anymore. If he did another one, I was fully expecting Batman to be cavorting in the Castro District with Robin wearing a strap on.

Would it have killed them to keep continuity with Burton's films (i.e. leaving
Spoiler:
The Joker
as the killer of Bruce Wayne's parents)? Nonetheless, still looks fabulous...

While Burton's version of Batman was good it changed a few things in the Legend. The killer of Bruce's parents was never who you mentioned above in the comic. Granted, I don't know if this "Begins" will go back to basics as far as Bat history goes, but if it does then Burton's version of who killed Bruce's parents will probably change. It sure seems like they've gone back to Ground Zero in terms of history but who knows.....

Why would they? They're redoing everything and have no connection to those films...so, why carry it over. Besides, the whole Joker killed his parents irked a lot of people, why not go with the original killer.

So that I don't have to take an "either/or" approach to the BATMAN films...again, it's no deal breaker, but it would have been appreciated (as a fan of the films, not the comic book)...

The chick is just not a good actor. She's average at best. Anyone know who was up for her role, because I have to believe that several real actors must have turned this down before it was offered to her.
Not to mention she is way too young for Christian Bale. He looks like an old man standing next to her. It's not like she would date someone that old in real life.

It might not have killed them it would have killed the film for a lot of people. It wouldn't let them be faithful to the actual source material either. How many major villains were killed!!! the very first time they tried to pull some shit in Batman's town?

If the villains escape or end up in Arkham Asylum at the end of this one, we'll know that we've arrived.

Oh yeah. About his voice changing when he cowls up: Kevin Conroy's been doing that for years.

Seems Ebert finally approves of a Batman flick.

Only took 5 to do it.

(Yeah yeah, no real point to it, but I'm bored and posting.)

Yeah, he does it but in the recent batman stuff he's voiced it's more subtle. In the 1st series it was more of a drastic change when Bruce wasn't Bats.

As an earlier poster guessed, Bale has indeed (see the new interview in STARLOG) come out and said the reason he went for a different voice is because when he put on the bat-suit he felt like an animal...and felt the voice should reflect that. He also wanted to emphasise that Bruce becomes totally different once the suit is on.

Yep...that's why he's the best Batman

Not a fan of Bale's Bat Voice, but it's just one of two minor flaws in this major film. I'm sure it will grow on me.
