The Emperor didn't know how to do this, because he told Anakin that they would help each other figure this out.

Who knows, that whole "bring back to life" story could have been totally bogus. Palpatine may have just told Anakin what he wanted to hear.

All works for me

It is my feeling that Obi-Wan left Anakin for the Force to deal with. By Jedi code, he couldn't kill an unarmed (unlegged) adversary. He also went on and on about "you were the chosen one", to remind us that, in the end, Anakin DOES fulfill the prophecy. He essentially kills himself and the Emperor, bringing balance to the Force by removing the 2 hideous Sith pieces of the Dark side.

I also feel Padmé died from complete heartbreak. I am a woman, a mom and a step-mom. Padmé didn't want to live in a place without freedom (liberty) or try to raise her children in such a place. She knew Obi-Wan and Yoda would take care of the babies and ensure they were safe. She didn't want to threaten their lives by risking Anakin finding her/them and pulling them into the Dark Side with him. ("Join me, Padmé and together we can rule this galaxy." - Anakin, before Padmé "turned" on him)

i agree with the code about not to kill and unnarmed adversary. Plus Anakin was pretty much roasting right in front of him, if i was Obi-Wan i would have thought that was enough to finish him.

Yes. The emperor tricked Anakin. He led him to believe that his master had taught him this ability but then at the end he tells anakin they will figure it out together. Just one of the many ways that it was the emperor's deception that led to anakin's fall, rather than anakin being evil.

In the book...

based on the movie..the writer says something like...Obi-Wan didn't want to kill Anakin at that moment. Kililng him would be a mercy. And Anakin wasn't feeling merciful.

I don't know if someone on another thread has already suggested this, but Padme should have died due to some medical complications caused by Anakin's force choke.

Damn, that's cold. I know Anakin did some unforgivable things, but he was like a brother to Obi-Wan and I know if that shit went down between me and my brother, I couldn't let him suffer any more than he had to.

Anakin's last words to Obi were "I hate you", so I guess Obi didn't feel too sorry for him at that moment......

Too true and not to mention that the fact that Obi Won never wanted to kill Anakin in the first place, which he did mention to yoda

Actually, the book says that it would've been the Jedi way to kill Anakin because it would be the merciful thing to do, but "Obi Wan wasn't feeling too merciful today".

The book also has Palpatine using the force powers to keep Anakin alive until they can put him into the suit.

The book is really much better at answering questions than the movie. My only remaining one is how Obi-Wan sensed that Anakin was alive and in the Vader suit if he never really saw him again until their fight in the Death Star.

Well, he saw the clip on the security camera of Anakin knealing before Sidious, so he may have heard he call him Lord Vader.

Then he knows it's Darth Vader and hears the name and realizes Anakin survived and was put in the suit.

I could care less what was or was not mentioned in those stupid books, we're talking about the movie here, not whatever trash you read in those.

but that would mean that Anakin's dream would have been wrong because she did'nt die in childbirth... it's more ironic that he saw what actually happened but in trying to prevent it, he caused it.
