4=5,6
3,2,1
3=4=5,2,6,1

based on which movies get more time in my DVD player: 2,5,1,4,6

as of right now i rate 3,4,and 5 the same. though 3 got better upon a second viewing so, even though i thought it would never happen, i might rate it at the top of the list. I've yet to watch ESB since i've seen ROTS, but ANH i watched right after seeing ROTS and i enjoyed ROTS more.

5,6,4
3,1,2

5,6,3,4,1,2

Personally I think 2 is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Obviously the Anakin/Padme stuff was painful, and, unlike most people I hate seeing Yoda flip out. I'm also quite biased toward RotJ because I had a tape as a kid with RotJ and Goonies that I watched alsmost everyday. But more than any series, Star Wars is a very personal thing, so everyone's opinion is respectable.

PS Although I like the OT in their original form...after watching 1,2,3,4,5,6 in order I think Lucas did an alright job making all the movies flow a bit better than they would have. There was still no reason to switch Gredo>Han...and some of the changes to RotJ almost made me cry.

I rewatched the previous five DVD releases last week, and call it heresy, but I had forgotten how boring much of the first half of Episode IV is (the whole droid escapades, Tatooine, Jabba debacle). Also, it definitely looks very dated compared to the revised Eps V and VI (the opening scroll, the updated CGI looks horrible and is largely unnecessary, Vader's outfit). I do respect it as great and landmark in its time. I think my appreciation for Jedi has grown. The last third is awesome and I thought the first third was underrated as well.

"Quality" of film ranking:
5, 4, 3, 6, 2, 1

What I would enjoy sitting down and watching
5, 3, 6, 4, 2=1 (I might never watch either again other than podrace/Maul demo scenes)

I just finished my first complete Star Wars marathon. And I'm leaning towards the prequels aswell. The OT will always be special, and the story was so well told. However, the story is now more powerful knowing how we got there. Also the prequels just have so much going on. It was great to see the politics unfold, and the strengths and weaknesses of the Jedi.
