Exactly. It tried to have those pretentions and thats what made the Prequels less enjoyable. Lucas forgot one of the main reasons why the original Star Wars movies was so exciting to watch. Relentless pacing. (Same with the Indiana Jones movies.) He kept them simple and revealed just enough to hint at a broader more complex world.

And he showed that complex world in the PT. I think all of the SW flicks are very well paced, they all have slow stretches, usually in the mid-section, and they all have eclectic fast paced action scenes. There's no reason for a simple dialogue exchange to be quick paced or anything, you leave that for the hightened action scenes.

And no offense, but I didn't want something simple out of the PT, I wanted some complex emotions, I want to see Palpatine slowly take control of the Senate and Anakin, I want to see the Republic getting eaten away piece by piece until Palpatine finally takes control like the Emperor he becomes. I want to see a gradual change in Anakin, etc. If it was simple, then Paul Fuckin Anderson woulda made it and it'd a been 100min. and had Jedi fighting Vader and that's it. To make something like the PT takes balls, and I respect George for having the balls to say "I'm not going to do this like you think it should be done. I'm doing it my way, the way that the story has to be told."

I think you need to watch the fucking movies, cause it's really quite obvious that you don't know shit about the flicks. If you think the PT is simple minded like the OT, then you're just fuckin stupid, no offense man.
See thats the kind of intelligent debate I expected from Star Wars idiots on a ROTS rush.

Only your opinion of the movies counts. Everyone else is just "fuckin stupid" Classic.

Why don't you use your Jedi powers to make it happen?

And you're not banned yet? Why in every fucking thread you post in you have to resort to calling people names in order to get your point across. Maybe you need to turn the Star Wars off and go outside and get laid. Or hell even talk to a woman for one time. And I dont mean when she's bagging up your Star Wars figures at the Wal-Mart checkout. Some people don't think the prequels are perfect. Get over it.

I thought the dialogue between Padme and Anakin was horrible. But Ian McDairmid stole the movie.
