4/5...Still didn't like a lot Christensen's acting or lack thereof even though it was better than AOTC. The best out of the prequels. Empire is still better imo.

4.0 and a hearty recommendation.
Positives:::
--> I found the acting to be light years better than in episode II. Christensen in particular played it better from start to finish. I found real anger and menace in his performance, unlike the petulant brat that he was forced to play in the previous entry. Ewan McGregor will always go down with me as the man that saved the prequel trilogy. His consistently terrific acting unified the series in the face of *the* worst dialogue I've heard in a major motion picture in parts of episode II. His performance in episode III has to go down as the best in the 6 film series, short of Alec Guinness possibly. Ian McDarmid is very fine also. He clearly was having a ball. Great effects, omnipresent but toned down a bit from the last picture. Also, good film structure and sustained storytelling. The writing in parts of the film, particularly the Palpatine/Anakin scenes, was genuinely exceptional. The best writing since episode V IMHO, though not nearly as sustained or witty. And finally, Natalie Portman keeps looking sexier. How is that possible?
Negatives:::
My biggest thing is the last half of the film felt horribly rushed. Not the lava planet stuff. That was excellent and well-paced. The stuff before, after order 66 is issued, and after the end of affairs on the lava planet. It felt like they were stuffing two hours of material into half an hour or so. IMHO, Lucas should have ditched episode I and gone with maybe episode II and IIIa and IIIb.
Overall, I rank III as easily the best of the prequel trilogy and just behind episode V and IV among the 6 films. Yes, I find it better than the Ewok infested Jedi. Of the six, mine go:
V- 5 stars
IV - 4.5 stars
III - 4 stars
VI - 3.5 stars
I - 3 stars
II - 3 stars
