Obi-Wan's line about Luke being their last hope was meant to give a sense of urgency, that if Luke failed, the Sith would be around a very long time. It wouldn't have been as dramatic if he specifically mentioned Plan B (i.e., Leia). Yoda does to an extent, but his ambiguous response made it sound like that someone out there would do the job, and that the fate of the galaxy hung in the balance.

Are you kidding? All he did was punch it! And he wouldn't have even punched it in the first place if Han hadn't of told him to punch it!

I have always thought that when Yoda said there was another hope, that he meant Anakin would come back to the light side. Maybe the prophecy wasnt wrong after all? there were just too many jedi's and the numbers had to be thinned out.

The one thing that bothers me about the ESB dinner scene, in the SE's they added windows to what used to be just walls but when the door opens and you see behind the group, the windows are gone and the walls are back. Wha happened there?

That is how I take it now that I've seen the prequels. The prophecy is that the "chosen one" will eliminate the Sith. Anakin eventually fulfills this, just not when or how they expected. The Jedi weren't counting on his detour, and the Sidious never believed he would turn back.

Sidekicks don't get medals.

For the dinner I think that Darth Vader and Boba Fett had to use straws and drink their dinners or have an iv inserted into a special opening in their costumes.

The scene with Yoda and Obi-Wan was cut in the middle of Yoda's line. "No, there is another. Idiot you are. Lay off drugs you must."

I figured it out. So the door closes and they all sit down to dinner. Vader speakes to Han

"So what are your intentions towards my daughter?"

Apparently he didnt like Hans response and proceeded to put him in carbon freeze. Case solved.

I'm guessing you didn't see the movies as they were put out...

Of course it no longer makes sense. Watching ESB and ROTJ we can assume that Obi doesn't know Luke has a sister until he finds out from Yoda. Knowing now what happens in ROTS then that throws that line of thinking out.

I remember an episode if G.I. Joe where Cobra Commander ate a chicken drumstick with his hemlet still on. He would just raise the chicken up to the mask and a piece would disappear from the drumstick. I'm sure Vader and Fett are capable of the same thing.

Somebody tackled this in a short fanfic a few years back. I believe it was on theforce.net's forums, but I'd have no idea how to find it. It was pretty funny though.

is it not possible that yoda is just a better judge of someone's true potential than obiwan? obiwan thinks leia wont add up to a hill of beans (let alone beat down vader in a saber duel) and yoda thinks otherwise? safe to say obi-wans judgement is a little off in general... his 'i can train anakin!' idea was more than a little boo-boo...

Maybe Obi-Wan does not know Leah is actually the Skywalker offspring, or perhaps they think that Luke have the force is a fluke in the heredity of the force, since Jedi are not to marry it would make sence that almost no Jedi would be related.

He's in the room when Padme gives birth and is in the room when they decide to have the Organas raise her.

Here's a question raised by that question, IF Vader is more machine than man, would he EVER eat ANYTHING? He is still somewhat of a man so you'd think you need food to survive if your human.

I can't remember, does Chewie walk down the aisle with Luke and Han? If he does he deserves that damn medal! If he didn't and was all ready there like C-3PO and R2-D2 then he doesn't deserve one! That's a really long walk! Anyone who walks down that deserves a medal.

A better question is why doesn't any of the other people who helped destroy the Death Star get a medal? What about all those people in the control room? They helped! And why not honor the dead? They gave THEIR LIVES for this! Those people deserve some kind of honor more than the "walking carpet" deserves a medal!

The real question is how all those Death Star workers weren't notified of the 1-missile weakness, worker protection agency!

That was part of my original thinking. I cant imagine Vader cooking up some chicken fingers for himself or sitting down to a fancy dinner party. I always just assumed he got an oil change or something every now and then. Remember in ESB, I believe, when one of his men walked in and they showed him with his helmet off sitting in that thing? I always thought that was his own personal Jiffy Lube.
