I honestly feel like I watched a completely different trailer than everyone here.
What was so impressive about the car chases? Just looked like boring old car chases to me. No force on earth could get me to sit through a 90 minute movie w/ the annoying America Pie guy in it, & every line out of his mouth just reinforced that. Simpson looks amazing in the bikini & Carter is one of my all-time biggest crushes but that is not nearly enough to make up for Pie guy & jackass. Reynolds is the man, but he looks like he is playing the same goofy role he did in Striptease. |
Pretty good trailer. Loved "Black Betty" playing in the background.
And I just noticed that the "main" Broken Lizard guy is directing (you know, the guy with the impossible name that directs their movies also). |
On the Confederate flag issue....
Spoiler:

To quote myself from August 1, 2003 in this thread announcing this project...

Looks like crap to me. Sorry.
|
No need to be sorry. It's one of those that looks so bad that it's good... or something like that. Also Jay Chandrasekhar in the chair seems like it will be an interesting turn of events.

Looks great to me. Jessica Simpson

I've watched the trailer 4x now -- damn I can't wait for this!

Looks fun and will be going to the theater to watch.

Wasn't interested in seeing this, but decided to watch this trailer anyways.I will now be watching it when it comes out.

Is the blonde in those pictures Daisy Dukes? Also, what's the name of the blonde in the red tanktop? Surely that's not Jessica Simpson, as it looks nothing like her, plus she looks better than Simpson.

Does anyone know if there will be a voice-over in it, like Waylon Jennings did on the show? |
@Terrell
The last two shots are Simpson as Daisy, but the first shot is just some random girl from the trailer, so she could be an extra or something more. |

Jessica Simpson  thats worth the money right there, im there in Aug.

"We converted." I have been a fan of Scott in every movie I have seen him in, and definitely don't share the hate some people here have for him. I don't care if he plays the same character forever because I always laugh at that character. If you disagree I got a little thunder for ya.

It looks much better than I expected, however it is still a rental.

I have to agree with Jackskeleton on this one. The trailer turned out better than I thought it would. The trailer is able to capture the "feel" of the TV series.
However, I still not going to pay money to see this in the theatres and will wait for the DVD release. Not a big Jessica Simpson fan but she looks good on the trailer. I had no idea that Linda Carter was going to be in this movie  |
I have to admit, I'm interested in this right now. The only problem I have is that it doesn't seem redneck/southern enough with its humor. I loved the show growing up and had a Dukes playset and General Lee pajamas when I was four. But I remember even then the humor being rather regional with its appeal. If they try to make the humor more appealing to blue states than red, that could be a mistake. If you see where I live in location, you'll know that there's plenty of potential in my area for this movie. ;)
I wonder if the college Bo and Luke visit is Louisiana State University? Seeing as how they filmed in Baton Rouge I think it would be logical for them to have filmed the scene on campus. I wonder if the soundtrack to this will be something they try to capitalize on with a big mix of southern rock and country? EDIT: The director in charge has me quite interested. I always thought he was the coolest member of the Broken Lizard team in the movies. Any chance that some of the other team members might make appearances? |
Looks good to me though I will wait for the dvd. Either you like the cast or you don't. I actually think their choices made me want to watch it more, not less. I really like Seann William Scott. Throw in JS in a bikini and just wow.

Well, from watching this thread I think most of would agree that at the very least, they managed to make the most effective trailer in recent memory.
As for the car stunts, I don't recall seeing a 20 foot car jump onto an insterstate recently, certainly not with a real car. Most of the recent car chases have been just that, chases, bunch of cars driving around in circles for 10 mins. Not to say some haven't been good, but the only one that really stands out to me is the one in Way of the Gun, simply because it was an entirely different take(and quite effective). The car chases and more particularly the jumps is what I liked about the show the most as a kid, and it's excellent to see them in the trailer spiced up a little more, and still using a real car. Quite a few times in the show I could see that General didn't land so well, I'm sure they could have saved some bucks on smashed Chargers but looks like we're getting the real deal. |
