Some Bond news...

Just saw a brief Fox News report that Pierce Brosnan will indeed in fact return for the role in the 21st Bond film "Casino Royale". Apparently all the actors that have tried out for the role have fallen through. The main co-star has pretty much confirmed the news.

Awesome! Campbell and Brosnan back together! Yes!

Who's the co-star?

I'm glad to hear that Brosnan might very well be back. Goldeneye was my favorite Bond flick of his, so the reunion with Martin Campbell sounds very promising. He deserves a better sendoff than Die Another Day.

Dame Judi Dench on the next 007

The New York Post spoke to Judi Dench, 'M' from the recent Bond blockies, who had something interesting to say about who'll be playing the next James Bond.

Clive? Daniel? Ioan? Hugh? Pauly? Nope - Dame Judi seems to think that Pierce Brosnan is indeed going to be in front of a lens for "Casino Royale".

Says the actress, "Despite the fact that everyone on the face of the Earth has been tested as his possible replacement, he'll be doing it again, and it'll be announced come summer."

Interestingly enough, one of the men rumoured to be replacing Brosnan, Daniel Craig, announced last week that such rumours were inaccurate.

Whaaaa?!?

That must have been the day I was up in the hot air balloon.

I wonder how Bobcat Goldthwait did. I thought he was a shoe in.

Great news. I think he's a great Bond and as was said previously, he deserved a better Swan Song than DAND.

Something smells funny about the whole deal, but, If everything is on the up and up I give Pierce props for being a stand up guy and doing the movie after everything that has happened. They should never have tried to replace him yet anyway.

Eh. I admit I'm not a big Bond or Brosnan fan, and I liked the idea of a younger, gritier Bond. That said, in the last few movies there were a whole lot of problems I'd rank higher than Brosnan, so this could be good.

Hell yes. It now seems likely Bond will have a better send-off film than Die Another Day. Great news indeed!

from Commanderbond.net:

Sony chairman Michael Lynton told Daily Variety that he doesn't know who'll star in the next James Bond film. He emphatically denied an item posted Wednesday on the Drudge Report -- and sourced to Judi Dench, who plays M -- claiming Pierce Brosnan's still the man.

I still would love to see Ewan McGregor in the role.

Judi Dench is out of her mind. She probably won't be back for the next Bond film.

This means Tarintino might be back in the mix, too. Sweet. I knew Brosnan was just holding out for more money.

YES! This is excellent, excellent, news. I figured Brosnan would pull a Connery though. Hope it's actually true.

Same here.

Also agree that until I see something official, file this under Rumor #651.
