I tried to ask as many questions as I could, here's what I found out.

There will definitely be more Sin City books and he said it is quite likely that there will be more movies. He said that if there are more movies their structure will likely not be the same as the first.

He was very hesitant to comment on which movies will be made or not and said until he sees the movie playing he is never sure what will hapen. That having been said, 300 is still in the works and Hard Boiled is in talks.

Ronin is unlikely, because he said he is in love with the Japanese films based on the series of Lone Wolf and Cub so he wouldn't want to mess with what he considers already near perfect when there are so many other stories to tell.

He also says The Dark Knight Returns in unlikely because WB just doesnt like the story. He said ideally they'd make Batman, Superman, etc. films evey year because there are so many stories to tell. He feels that studios get caught up making big pompous productions and forget the stories are above all entertainment and should be given to the public more often.

He wouldn't say about the Bible graphic novel or the Batman v. Terrorists being potential books.

Year One was cancelled for the reasons we all have heard - execs didn't like how out there it was. He also mentioned that Batman Begins is not Year One and that he doesn't like that rumor being thrown around.

Random stuff:

Bruce Willis was apparantly really into the film and supportive of bringing in more of the story directly from the books.

Benicio Del Toro actually asked to wear the prosthetic nose to be more like the character in the books. The whole cast really got into being like their book characters.

Tarantino (shockingly) came in with tons of ideas. Miller said because Rodriguez did so much more than directing, when QT came on set it was the first time he saw exactly what directing alone entailed.

He described comics ond movies as having a marriage that needs counseling because it has been a one way street for too long.

He blames Robocop 2 on the directing.

Overall, sorry to say, Frank Miller seemed like a prick. Genius? Sure. But also an asshole.

Thanks for the responses, vasb. But why exactly do you say he came across as a prick? The responses you mention simply seem frank. Or was it the way he worded his responses?

This actually (unlike my other interviews) was not a one on one thing. It was more of a Q&A with many people. I filtered his responses to answer the questions as best as possible. It is difficult to explain, but he really acted very arrogant and not friendly towards his fans. I have seen many "celebs" in situations such as this in addition to one on one interviews and he is easily one of the most bitchy people I have met. I put him up there with Mira Sorvino. If you'd like more information I'd be happy to tell you particulars, but am in a bit of a hurry right now.

Thanks for the update and for asking. I think with how well received Sin City is, maybe Hard Boiled would be a possibility. Especially with Willis in the role as Nixon.

Not sure what he means about Ronin. Tho I doubt he'll get to do that series anyway since it's owned by DC.

Well Frank's gotta realize that it takes pretty long to make a Superman or Batman flick, a couple a years. They could do it like James Bond, every 2-3 years a new one comes out, but every year, that could never happen logisitically.

Frank Miller has alway come accross as very...uhh.. frank... in his letters responses in the back of the Sin City books I've read. He's probably get more attention now than he's ever gotten before, and most likely from Hollywood type people, who he has never seemed to like. I'm not surprised he'd come off as a prick...

Not that I'm making excuses for him, I'm just saying I'm not surprised.

I'd rather have Frank be an honest prick, than a guy who just praises everything and acts like a douche.

I guess I'm too late to get my question asked, but I'd like to know what he thinks of the new dimensions on the Dark Horse reprints of Sin City. I was going to pick some up, but I tend to dislike reprints which shrink the artwork, so I've stayed away. I mean, I don't know if Miller was working in the same style he used for Dark Knight Returns, but some of those Dark Knight Returns panels were tiny -- I'd hate to try reading them after they've been shrunk by another 10-15%.

There's a difference between being an ass towards Hollywood people and being an ass toward your fans.

From what he said, I don't see him being an ass towards his fans. Perhaps it was his mannerisms or tone, but he was kind enough to answer many questions from loyal fans, which tells me that he likes his fans, and vice versa.
