I've seen people refer to it as that, but I've never actually read anything where Van Sant does.

How is Courtney Love's vocal "cameo" handled? It's her voice yelling at someone over the phone or something? Can you distinctly tell it's her?

Courtney Love was in the movie? First I've heard of it.

Hmmm. Maybe that's why I loathed the film.

well, i just came back from watching the film at the Sunset 5. interesting that it was shot with a 1.37:1 aspect ratio... dont see that very often. in fact, i believe Elephant was the last.

anyway, the film. it was lyrical, contemplative, and occasionally quite funny. the scene in which we listen to blake play the "its a lonely road from death to birth" song penetrated me in a way few films have. loved when he ripped that broken guitar string off and kept playing thru.

i'm left wondering though... and there probably isn't a specific answer but maybe someone could relay their own thoughts, but... two songs are featured that refer to being "on bended knee". one was boyz II men, and another that scott was singing along to later. each of these songs were featured during the two sequences where we see an event (or non-event) from two perspectives. what do you make of this?

I finally saw this last night. Very interesting film. At first I didn't care for it but I can't seem to get it out of my head. Eerie film.

As a Kurt Cobain fan, I must say Van Sant missed a huge aspect of his final days: heroine. I'm pretty sure Kurt Cobain's last days were full of heroine usage, not too mention he probably had puncture wounds on his arms.

I liked it though.

Spoiler:
The part at the end where Blake's spirit walked out of his body took me out of the picture a bit. It was unexpected.
