I enjoyed the movie, saw it in Upstate NY and the entire theater seemed to be enjoying it. Mix of Sox and Yankee fans in their. Some cheers at the Yankee jokes, some cheering at the Buckner type moments.
It was good for a romantic comedy.

My GF and I caught the sneak preview last week and we both enjoyed it. I'm a huge Red Sox fan, but I don't really care one way or another for Fallon, so it didn't bother me at all that he was in the movie.

I saw a pre-screening of this movie last night.
It had its moments but it was nothing special. The best part was the aftermath of the Buckner moment
I actually thought that Drew was much better than Fallon in it. I didn't think that the 2 had much chemistry.
Plus, I was surprised that there weren't more people with "Bah-stin" accents in it.
As a Yankees fan, it pained me to watch the Red Sox win.
But hey, I saw the movie for free so whatever.

Some highlights from MetaCritic:
Variety Brian Lowry
The Farrelly brothers are growing up, which in this case isn't a bad thing. With a tacked-on ending made necessary by the Boston Red Sox's improbable World Series run last fall, Fever Pitch proves a charming romantic comedy against "A Beautiful Mind"-type framework.
Charlotte Observer Lawrence Toppman
The picture's consistently entertaining and, though it has few brilliant comic peaks, it never plunges into boring valleys.
Philadelphia Inquirer Steven Rea
Fever Pitch works. At times, it works brilliantly.
Wall Street Journal Joe Morgenstern
For all its various failures, Fever Pitch taps expertly into our nostalgia for an era when baseball really was the American pastime, unsullied by money, drugs or celebrity.
Rolling Stone Peter Travers
The movie is so soggy and anonymous, I had to remind myself that the Farrelly brothers, Peter and Bobby, directed it. It's sad to watch the kingpins of gross-out try to dial down to cute. Swung at and missed.

It sounds pretty close to me...

This film was a like Valentine given to passionate baseball fans, and of course, the object of that affection and passion is the Boston Red Sox.
Fallon (Ben) and Barrymore (Lindsey) have cute chemisty together (though not as good as Sandler and Barrymore), and for the most part, you buy their relationship along with that big white elephant in the room (Ben's passion for the Red Sox). The humor is more on the chuckle and laugh-with-them variety, not something that you'd expect from the directing team of the Farrelly Brothers, but they were well-restrained with the unsightly gags, and concentrated on the story at hand, capturing a sweet romance in spite of a man's obsession for the Red Sox.
It's a nice film to catch as we enter the start of the 2005 Major League Baseball season.
I give it 3 stars, or a grade of B.

I'm not gonna see this movie. Jimmy Fallon is totally undeserving of his own movie. I suppose this would be his 2nd. Note to Jimmy: you can make a romantic comedy, cast Drew Barrymore in it but you're not Adam Sandler! You never will be! Stop trying!
Ok, I've calmed down now.

I thought it was a great flick... I'm not much of a baseball fan, but I really could relate to the material (being a huge movie/dvd fanatic) and thought the movie was funny and touching, without being too sacarine to take... The Farrelly's haven't made a movie this good in a while so it's nice to see something great from them for a change!!!
