Another vote for Natalie Portman in "Leon: The Professional"

I still think this is her strongest work.

For Anna Paquin, I'd assume he was referring to The Piano - for which she won an oscar.

Jason Lee - Mallrats, just watched it again last night and damn he is great, followed up with another great performance in Chasing Amy.

He really is one of my favorite actors, can watch him in anything, its just sad he doesnt get more roles as I still think he could be a star.

I am on board with the Bryce Dallas Howard nod.

I was going to say Russel Crowe and Guy Pearce, both from LA Confidential, but it appears both(after a quick imdb check) had done quite a bit before that film. First solidified hit for both of them though.

Another vote for Natalie Portman. Speaking of which, I just watched Closer last night. Wow, she amazes me. She picks such great movies, aside from the new Star Wars movies I love all of her movies.

I agree with Natalie Portman and Bryce Dallas Howard.

I will also add Dakota Fanning in I AM SAM.

Wait, you're saying you didn't like Garden State? Nice to meet you. You're the first one I've met that hasn't (though I'm sure there are others).

I didn't dislike it, I hated it. Do a search - there was a thread here a couple of months ago where I posted a link to my (extremely negative) review of it, and at least a few other people agreed with me.
