Well the last movie I saw was Million Dollar Baby. I know the first couple months are usually crappy for movies but for me it's been a drought. There hasn't been anything released this year that looked remotely interesting. I usually go to the movies quite often compared to my friends but I still haven't seen anything new. 2005 does look promising though. I plan on seeing Sin City opening night, but until then I have seen zero 2005 movies.

For the last few years I've only been catch 2 or 3 films per year in the theater. So far the only film I know I'll be seeing in the theater for this year is "Serenity" and that isn't til September....just nothing that is good enough to make me deal with high prices, rude patrons, screaming children, cellphones, pagers, sticky floors, etc...

I still haven't made it to the theater in 2005 yet. I was going to go watch The Ring 2 this weekend, but ended up renting The Incredibles instead.

I haven't been to the theater yet this year either, and I'm starting to think I might just give up the theater all-together. I mean, there's several movies I wanna see this year (Sin City, Batman, Star Wars), but there'll be people there, and kids, and cell phones, and that just pisses me off. So I'll probably just wait the 3-4 months for the dvd to come out, and watch it in my own (home) theater and not worry about any interruptions.

Sin City will be the first movie that I watch at the theatre in 2005.

I may go see Sin City as well, although I usually wait for movies to come out on DVD. I've just never completely enjoyed the theater experience for some reason. The only movies I've actually gone to see in the theater in the last few years are:

LOTR: Return of the King
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen
Spider-Man
Willard
Two Weeks Notice (it was a date, not my choice)

I haven't stepped foot inside a cinema since December 2003 (and even that ended up being one on foreign soil).

I think "Downfall" is the only one I've seen this year, but I think that was officially released last year.

Imaginary Heroes was a great indie film that (barely) got a theatrical release from Sony.

Inside Deep Throat was interesting, but could've been better.

Hitch was entertaining, but more fluff than anything else.

Everything else released this year has been complete and total shit.

The Ring 2 was the first time I've been to the movies in about 6 months.

Last flick I watched in a theater was Saw... And that was only because I was out of town and a friend of mine wanted to catch it. Think the last film I watched in a theater prior to that was Shrek 2, with my GF. I go to the theater once, maybe twice a year.

Nothing yet, and the only 100% for-sure-will-see this year is "Serenity". I'll be there for my first opening night at the movies on September 30th.

I'd like to also see "Batman Begins", but other than that, I'll wait for DVD for the rest of what I want to see this year. If I had to make a guess, I'd say I've only been in the theatre maybe 7 times in the past 5 years.

I will admit this year so far has been lacking (which I hate to do), there are still many good to great films out there just waiting for support.

2005 isn't sunk yet.

I think the last movie I saw in a theater was Dodgeball. There are many 2005 releases that I want to see (Star Wars, Sin City, Batman, Kingdom of Heaven, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, etc.); however, the more I think of the theater experience, the more I want to wait for the DVD.

Looking at my post in the "Rank them as you see them thread", so far this year I've seen:

1943 - 3
1945 - 1
1969 - 1
1971 - 1
1980 - 1
1983 - 1
1987 - 1
2000 - 1
2004 - 2

But nothing yet from 2005. It usually takes a while before I see a theatrical release from the current year.

Now and then this year I've thought about going to see something. Once I even got in my car and drove up to the local theater. When I got there the place was packed so I said screw it and went home.

It takes a big release for me to drag myself out into the public to see a film. I'd rather be way behind the crowd on here and wait.....then to see most movies with a room full of a-holes. I can't stand people in a normal setting and they drive me to drink in a theater situation.

That's the only one I've seen so far this year. Gotta admit I was pretty surprised by it as well. I'm going to try and go see The Merchant of Venice tomorrow. I'm planning on Sin City. Love those Wed. or Thursday afternoon showings!
