The goods news is it appears it was the uncut version that was aired!

I turned it on and watched the opening sequence, which I heard was heavily cut in the R version(ie-cutting the film title out..since it forms in a pool of cum) and all that was intact.

+ the info on the film said it was 128 minutes long, which is the uncut length.

If anyone watched the entire thing, they would have better knowledge if it was the full uncut version or not.

But anyway I have to say I was extremely disappointed with this film. It was far from anything I had pictured after hearing about it.

Overlong, not that gory(majority of the violence is offscreen, except for some fake CGI,or some brutal women hating torture scenes). The attempts at dark humor didn't work for me at all(expect the tongue cutting sequence).

I thought the film would be more wild and outrageouslly comic bookish from the hype I heard. Yet it was none of that at all. The violence against the women in the film is extremely offensive(& one scene is even played for dark humor!).

Overall it was not a very good film, and pretty boring.

The worst part about it for myself was I shelled out full retail($26 with tax) for the dvd since none of the other stores carried the uncut version!

Best Buy told me they were not allowed to stock the uncut version in store(guess the content was 'too much' for them) and it wasn't available uncut for rental either.

So I took the risk of buying it blind at full retail...and was let down. There is absolutely no reason Best Buy and other stores could 'not' carry the uncut version(since they've stocked films far more extreme and graphic than all of Ichi!).

The irony a few months later,(ie-this week) I noticed Best Buy now has the uncut Ichi for $12.99!

Whoa, you're right. I never thought I'd see the day BB would carry Ichi the Killer Uncut. Just for kicks I searched for GOZU, sure enough, they have it too!

I hate to agree with Julie Walker as I really wanted to like this film, but it isn't too good. There were some awesome gore scenes, but too tame and too infrequent. The plot sucked and it was pretty boring for the most part.

i have to agree with Julie as well. the movie definitely didn't live up to the hype. it had some surrealistic moments which were neat, but as a movie in its entirety is was anything but special imo. this and "Audition" were two i clamored to see and was disappointed at how ordinary they truly were.

so i saw this movie...man its pretty freaky. not the gore, that looked really fake and above the extreme, but the whole story was just a bunch of chicks getting beat up and fast, out of control flashbacks. ICHI himself was a whinry little bitch, who you want to feel bad for until he randomly goes on a rampage and ends up killing innocents as well as the bad guys. However, the blonde-haired duide was cool...

Yeah, I'm glad I rented it through Netflix on my free trial. It was an interesting story, but it certainly didn't live up to the hype.
