MAN OF THE HOUSE review thread...

I'm starting this thread because Sony isn't going to press screen the film, and I would love to read reactions if anyone is planning to see the film next week.

I plan on seeing it...should be interesting to see the reviews. What was Tommy Lee Jones last big hit anyways?

They began filming this film before the script was even finished.

I find that almost insulting to screenwriters...

Usually when stodios don't screen a movie for the press it means they don't have much faith in it.

Who cares about the script when you can see Christina Milian jumping around in her little college cheerleading outfit

[Linked due to somewhat mature nature. D-]

I'll be there.

I saw the poster for this film about a month ago. I was a little surprised with the title since there's a Disney movie with Chevy Chase with the same title that came out about 10 years ago.

Sure. If the film was rated R.

Same thing happened with Jones' THE FUGITIVE...that turned out pretty well. I don't expect this one to be that good (or that bad), but DOZENS of movies get shot each year where the screenplays are being worked on during shooting.

I wasn't aware of the script issue for The Fugitive, though it explains some of my problems with the otherwise-excellent film.

As for the DOZENS, there's a difference between "still being worked on" and what I mean by "unfinished". The screenplay didn't even have an ending when they started shooting.

Caught the film at a matinee yesterday.

It's isn't CURSED bad, but not a single laugh. Stephen Herek was the wrong director to hand the project over to.

But that Kelli Garner...I'm impressed.

I just saw this film and was pleasently suprised. Tommy Lee Jones was great of course and the girls (and the still lovely Anne Archer) provided some great eye candy. I was really taken by Kelli Garner. Never seen her before but she was absolutely adorable in this film.

The movie wasn't as bad as I was expecting. I picked it up for Tommy Lee Jones.. sure, he plays basically the same character he's played in the past.. well, almost every film, but he's certainly good at what he does. I was surprised I actually laughed a few times too. And I was very happy Cedric the Entertainer wasn't in it as much as he was made out to be.
