Mr. and Mrs. Smith

This movie is now on the headlines because of the break-up. Now everyone is going to watch it, might as well start a thread on it, unless of course there already is one

Actually usually the reverse happens, but I gotta say I'd rather have this than Aniston as well.

Well I was interested in this even before the break-up. Angelina's looking good.

Trailer looked good until they started killing each other. Then it looked pretty campy.

Angelina has looked great since she split up w/ Billy Bob, imo.

I always look forward to a Doug Liman flick.

I can't wait to see this film. Looks great. I think I heard somewhere that Nicole Kidman was originally cast to play Mrs. Smith, but had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts.

Didn't know it was a Liman flick. Didn't know much about it period. But Angelina and Liman are a plus. Guess I need to check the trailer out.

I really, sincerely doubt that. Stuff blows up, that's enough to make sure it won't bomb like that.

Nonetheless, I'm looking forward to this. Liman has impressed me with each of his films, so I look forward to what he can show us.

Mr. & Mrs. Smith is an excellent film. It was a nice find in the Hitchcock Box.

Edit: Wrong film - sorry

I saw this trailer last night before Elektra and all I could think of was a bunch of execs sitting in a room thinking, "what if we combine True Lies with Ballistic and then for Hahas give it the name of an obsure Hitchcock film."

Looks like the typical summer fluff.

So it's not a modern remake of the Hitchcock film?

From NBC News

The news comes from Pitt's longtime publicist, who declined to say if Pitt and Aniston plan to file for a divorce.

"We would like to announce that after seven years together we have decided to formally separate," the couple said in a statement issued to People.

The separation, first reported on People magazine's Web site, comes more than four years after the couple's Malibu wedding -- and after months of speculation that their marriage was in trouble -- speculation that the couple says was off-base.

"For those who follow these sorts of things, we would like to explain that our separation is not the result of any of the speculation reported by the tabloid media," Pitt and Aniston said in the statement to People. "This decision is the result of much thoughtful consideration. We happily remain committed and caring friends with great love and admiration for one another. We ask in advance for your kindness and sensitivity in the coming months."

People reported that Aniston has recently been photographed in public without her diamond-studded wedding ring.

Pitt and Aniston have been together since being set up on a blind date in 1998.

"Friends" star Aniston and her five castmates bid farewell in May to show after 10 years on the air.

Pitt most recently starred in "Troy" and the "Ocean's Eleven" sequel "Ocean's Twelve."

I actually enjoyed this tv series Mr. and Mrs. Smith Starring a great Mr. Smith, as well as a very hot Mrs. It had promise, not sure why it got canned. Ran 13 episodes, 4 of which were never aired.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who caught the True Lies thing too. Did you also notice in the trailer when Brad Pitt and Angelina are dancing they play the same tango music that Tia Carrere and Arnold danced to in True Lies? I thought that was kind of a strange coincidence.

Re: Mr. and Mrs. Smith

For some odd reason every time I'm channel surfing and I come across this movie. I end up watching it... The chemistry between Pitt and Jolie is simply awesome and no wonder they got together after this.

Re: Mr. and Mrs. Smith

Ive never listened to the commentary track but I've always liked this idea.

Keith David and Angela Bassett play the bosses of the rival companies that emply Pitt and Jolie.

I've always thought that their backstory was they were married like them two and ended up hating each other because of the job and then started rival companies, and try to outdo each other.
