I want to know what are some good movies i can rent. Kind of like B rated movies, movies nobody know about kind of like Equalibrium or The Returner.

It'd be hard, if not downright impossible, to list an "unknown" film in this forum. However, some lesser known films I'd recommend:

Boondock Saints
Shaolin Soccer
Six String Samurai
Cannibal! The Musical
Attack the Gas Station!

Read beyond the topic title.

csim is looking for movies like Equilibrium or The Returner.

Think sci-fi, action or thriller, maybe anime.

Well, Ebert called City of God "The best movie you have never seen" or something like that.

Anyways, try "So Close"

Most recently, Sideways. Nearly everyone I have told about it has not heard of it.

Given some of the responses in this thread we might as well list Star Wars and Casablanca.

OK, here's a couple of old Russian silents that few people know about:

The Extraordinary Adventures of Mr. West in the Land of the Bolsheviks
Chess Fever

and a not very well-known (AFAIK) French movie from a few years ago:

À la folie

which stars both Anne Parillaud and Béatrice Dalle.
