Nobody Knows (Daremo Shiranai) - Wow! That looks great! Kind of reminds me of a live-action, peacetime, Grave Of The Fireflies.
Gunner Palace - Not usually a big fan of documentaries, but I'm all over this one. The Green Butchers - Looks like it's got some potential. Watermarks - Holocaust survivors documentaries  . . . swimming Holocaust survivors documentaries :whofart: Cursed - Horror movie + bad CGI (even in that tiny window) = http://www.mindspring.com/~boycekb/i...milies/Yuk.gif The Jacket - The trailer was broken at that link, but I found it at Yahoo! Movies. . . looks pretty sweet. Kind of reminds me of a The Butterfly Effect kind of film. Appleseed - Looks like a promising sci-fi anime. The artwork/scenery looks really nice. Corpse Bride - A new Tim Burton animated film!!!! Thanks for the links, whitetigeress! |

corpse bride look really funny.
|
The Jacket - saw the trailer in theaters this weekend... looks really interesting and I can't wait for it. I hope it's as brilliant as it looks like it will be.
Gunner Palace - I'd love to check this one out. Corpse Bride - I hope Burton is back with this one... He's been disappointing me over and over for over a decade now, but this one looks like it has the charm of Nightmare Before Xmas but hopefully without the annoying songs. (to be fair though, they were probably only annoying to me because I had to hear them 6 times a day when I worked at a video store.) Cursed - I actually want to see this one... it's got Pacey in it and he dies. It looks like Nadia from American Pie is in it too and she dies as well. I think it looks kinda like Ginger Snaps with a bigger budget. Appleseed - been anxious to see this for almost a year now... Is there a DVD for this with English subs yet like in Japan or somewhere? I can't remember. Nobody Knows - all that praise for the director and I've never heard of him... hmm... |

Wow, that Tractenberg chick looks very cute in that Ice movie. I used to think she was freaky looking but not anymore.

King's Ransom:
Man of the House:  The Nomi Song: Interesting. Swimming Upstream:  The Boys & Girl From County Clare: Potential. |
King's Ransom - Eh . . . I'll catch it on TV. Nice to see Eddie Murphy's big bro getting some face time on the big screen, though. :D ;)
Man of the House - Looking forward to it (though, I'll probably see it as a rental). Tommy Lee Jones is a great "serious" actor, but I also find him to be really funny in comedy roles. The Nomi Song - could be interesting, but not real high on my list of documentaries (which aren't, as a genre, high on my list of movies, anyway). Swimming Upstream - Looks promising. Plus, new Geoffrey Rush movies are always a good thing. :) Duma - Looks like a cute family film . . . Eamon Walker is a plus. The Boys & Girl From County Clare - A definite. I love Irish films and Irish music. Plus it's got Andrea Corr in it. Thanks again, whitetigeress and Amel, for the links. |

King's Ransom - looks kinda funny, but I'll wait till it's on cable.
Man of the House - meh... I'll wait for cable The Nomi Song - uh... I'm in no rush to see this either. Swimming Upstream - I'll pass. Duma - pass. The Boys & Girl From County Clare - pass... I was bored just watching the trailer. I mean, it's exciting and all that there's another movie about violinists coming ou..zzzzZZzZzzZ Z z ZZz |

His last name is pronounced "Wal-ker". ;) |
Honeymooners - http://www.mindspring.com/~boycekb/i.../HeadSmack.gif -ohbfrank-
Naked Fame - :whofart: I'm not even sure I know what the subject of the documentary is supposed to be. :hscratch: Longest Yard - This was a fun movie when it was first released, but I really don't think it needed a remake. Sahara - Mindless, eye candy, action film . . . could be fun. Thanks for the links, Ryo. |
Honeymooners - they should all die.
Naked Fame - pass! Longest Yard (Superbowl Ad) - I will see anything Adam Sandler puts out... even a rehash of the prisoner vs. guard sports movie cliche. Sahara (Superbowl Ad) - no idea what it's about, just a busy trailer. Maybe I wasn't paying attention? |
The Nomi Song movie looks fascinating.
One of my most vivid memories from the 70's was seeing Nomi sing back up for Bowie on Saturday Night Live. I mean that image has stuck with me all these years. |
|
The Ballad of Jack and Rose - Looks pretty promising. It'll be nice to see what Daniel Day-Lewis will do after such a long hiatus (especially considering that he had such a great performance in Gangs Of New York).
The Interpreter - Political, action, suspense flick . . . hard to tell how this will do. The cast is great, but in that genre, the strength of the story is what will make or break the film. Cry Wolf - High school slasher . . . ho-hum . . . Thanks LorenzoL! |
Interpreter looks good, but so much was said in the trailer that i feel i know too much.

The only really really cool movies coming out (of the ones in this thread) oseem to to be Unleashed and Sin City. The others seem to have been done before. Except maybe for Hitchhikers. |

Red Eye
XXX - State of the Union Herbie Fully Loaded I'm not sure if this has been posted. Bad News Bears Palindromes Layer Cake Winter Solstice Yes Look At Me Kicking and Screaming - Trailer 2 Smile Nina's tragedies Into the Blue I'm sure someone already made of thread about this movie. The Holy Girl (La Nina Santa) Rock School |
They shouldn't have done the whole "red eye" effect on Murphy. Bad idea. |
rotfl Herbie http://raisedbykubrick.com/smilies/weaksauce.gif
Red Eye has a good cast. But, uh ... the trailer didn't really give much away. I'll hold comment. Layer Cake: http://raisedbykubrick.com/smilies/dancingcool.gif Winter Solstice: LaPaglia is all grown up. Looks real good. Michelle Monaghan looks like Liv Tyler. Also, anyone know that song in the soundtrack? Bad News Bears: rotfl, I'm sorry .. I love Billy Bob. That's all for now... |
The Island
Looks o.k., reminds me of some movie from the 70's that I can't think of. Scarlett:  |

Red Eye - saw this last night in the theater - the audience mocked it. I may see it.
XXX - State of the Union - ugh... will wait for cable. Herbie Fully Loaded - I'll watch it on cable... I loved the Herbie movies when I was a kid... although this one looks like they tried too hard to appeal to todays kids who they clearly assume are retarded. Bad News Bears - I'd only see this out of nostalgia for the originals. Looks like they might have kept the tone though which is good. Palindromes - I may check it out, but I'm getting kinda tired of this filmmaker. He seems like his stories are all out of the same miserable book. Layer Cake - bad trailer again... looks totally uninteresting even though I should want to see it. Winter Solstice - No chance of getting me into the theater, but maybe I'll watch it when it airs on Lifetime. Yes - trailer didn't even work for some reason. Look At Me - Not compelled to see this at all. Bad trailer... the movie may be good, but I can't tell. Kicking and Screaming - Trailer 2 - Oh look - it's the script that wrote itself. Eh - I'm not the biggest fan of Farrel or kid actors, but I like soccer. I'll see it when it's on cable. Smile - looks like an afterschool special. I'd be interested in seeing it on cable sometime though. Nina's tragedies - meh... oh wait, it got lots of good reviews and won a bunch of awards... I'm an uncultured dum dum if I don't go see this. Into the Blue - This is a good action/adventure movie trailer. I don't have any expectations for this to be an awesome film or anything, but I'll see it. The Holy Girl (La Nina Santa) - no idea what it's about... another lolita type film? Ooooh - controversial. -rolleyes- Rock School - actually looks interesting. I would've rather seen this than School of Rock. |
Trigger - kids today are retarded.
Red Eye looks pretty interesting to me. |
You're right - kids today are retarded... and fat (according to CNN). I blame shitty movies.
