Grand Theft Parsons
I was totally shocked to see this on the DVD shelf at my local library, as I'd been keeping an eye to have a theatrical run perhaps sometime this season. For the unitiated, it's the true tale of the theft of the corpse of country rocker Gram Parsons by his road manager to be creamated in the California desert. I mean, how can you go wrong with a tale like that?
Well, the answer is, in every way imaginable. I can't properly quantify the profundity of my dissappointment in this film, it just misses every single note. Terrible directing, awful performances and the most inappropriate lighting in a film in a long while.
Has anyone else been subjected to this turd? Don't get me wrong, I can live with a bad movie, it's just watching these tall hopes get crushed that hurts.
