Number one is definitely "The Professional". Funny that you posted another screen cap in another thread earlier. Did you see my "fix" of that shot?

EDIT: I just recognized number three from Albert Brooks' bushy 'do. "Defending Your Life".

Yup, and yes for the other guesses as well.

I was going to post a shot of the next bin on the buffet but the little read sign clearly said "Chicken Fricasse", which would have made it way too easy.

#5 is still open.

Is #5 The 25th Hour?

Nevermind, I just skipped through my dvd copy and the dog is bigger and has more color.

In addition to this one:

Here are five more. I tried to make them a little bit harder. Still all English-language and fairly contemporary:

6.

7.

8.

9.

8 looks like Erin Brockovich. The scene where she's working on the sink and a roach crawls across the floor.

Searching for Bobby Fischer is correct.

A hint on the one with the dog. It is from a popular romantic comedy made within the past 5 years.

It almost looks like a scene from Bruce Almighty, but I believe that dog was a Dalmation.

You've Got Mail while you were Sleepless in Seattle?

I know both were made over 5 years ago

Nope.

Here's another hint. The dog is standing by the front door. That the dog is standing there is a substantial plot point in the movie.

Here are five more, again trying to make them a little bit harder:

1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

Again, all English-language and contemporary. #4 is actually pretty easy but I will be impressed with whomever gets #2, even though it is a very popular film.

4=My Cousin Vinny
5=Out Of Sight

2 does look familiar but I can't place it. Is it A Few Good Men?

3 is Sense And Sensibility, I believe.

And, yes . . . 4 is most definitely My Cousin Vinny.
