For a war movie fan you are neglecting some of the greatest war movies every filmed.
Bridge on the River Kwai - There is a great 2-Disc set of this.
Casualties of War - Many hate this movie, I think it's a great underrated De Palma gem.
Taekukgi - The Brotherhood in American translation. Do yourself a favor & hunt this movie down if you can go Region free. A tremendous Korean war movie, a little similar to Saving Private Ryan. Outstanding action & a great story.
Gunga Din - How can anyone be considered a war movie fan & not have this on their list. Recently releases in a pretty decent DVD.
Guns of Navarone - This should also be mandatory. Anthony Quinn killing nazis, what more could you ask for.
The Dirty Dozen - Another you didn't list. Are you sure you are a war movie fan?

I just noticed that nobody, including the OP, mentioned Pearl Harbor. Must be a little too "chick movie" for everyone.

Well, if your taste for war stories extend to ancient times some I like are:
Helen of Troy (1956)
The 300 Spartans
Alexander The Great (1956)
I also like these WW II films that I do not believe have been mentioned:
The Enemy Below
The Desert Fox
The Young Lions
Von Ryan's Express
Memphis Belle
Battle of Britain
Run Silent, Run Deep
Too Late The Hero
Where a movie goes from "OK" to "REALLY GOOD" will depend for each collector a lot on personal preference for the cast, storyline, period in history, director, and so on.
I would pretty much agree with all that have been listed here as worth owning.

And if you like Civil War films, check out:
Gettysburgh, &
Gods & Generals
Not great films overall, but they do have nice battle scenes, especially Gods & Generals.
Also check out “Wicked Spring”, and “Catch-22”. Wicked Spring is an OK Civil War movie, and Catch-22 is a great black comedy, if you like that type of humor.
