They're really whipping this thing together fast. Doesn't seem right that peter Jackson's King Kong doesn't come out till NEXT Christmas and this movie comes out in the summer when it's been in production for much less time.

While I was disappointed to learn that it wouldn't be period, if Spielberg really pushes this and makes it scary (and not just ID4 part 2), I think it could be very good. Just as long as Cruise doesn't flash his killer smile at approaching alien tripods and say, "You're gonna have to catch me!"

I am wondering if this will be FX heavy since they are still in production and post production on stuff like this tends to take a while to perfect. Seems like Spielberg and Co. are really pushing by shooting for summer.

This is great, I just did a full night of extras work on the film in Athens, and now I get to see the teaser. I'm thrilled - the look of the suburban footage reminds me of E.T. and Poltergeist. I sent a long version of what I saw on-set to AICN, hopefully they'll put it up soon. But I really think WotW is going to be huge.

Good teaser. Was the narration a passage from the book? Except for the mention of the 21st century it sounds similar...
Of course, direct-download links ASAP would be awesome!

Smaller budget and the Speilberg movie, but it sounds like its being very faithful to the book.

It should be intresting to see how they end the movie. In this day and age of CRASH! BOOM! WHAM! explosive endings, having the invading aliens all drop dead of the common cold will seem a bit . . . mellow? Sedate? Not very CRASH BOOM WHAM at all.
