Harrison Ford confirms role in Indy sequel...
Well, I know how these rumors go. You hear it's DEFINITELY getting made this time, then 5 years later it isn't. In any case, saw this over at www.TheIndyExperience.com :
Full article here.
IESB.net: Is Indy 4 still going to be made?
Ford: "No doubt about it."
IESB.net: Could a younger actor play Indiana Jones in Indy 4?
Ford: "No problem, but Indy IV is mine." Ford also added that he wouldn't mind having a younger actor play Indy in future films, which is similar to what was done with the James Bond films after Sean Connery left.
IESB.net: Will you be doing your own stunts for Indiana Jones 4?
Ford: "At least some of them."
Ford: "No doubt about it."

I don't think his being involved was ever in question. I thought the problem was getting a script that everyone was happy with, and after Lucas turned down Frank Darabont's version, they are working on a new one.

I've said it once, I'll say it again...I dread a sequel. The series ended perfectly with LAST CRUSADE. They'll never be able to top the last one, and it's more likely than not to put a sour taste in our mouths - much the way the Star Wars prequels have done.
That being said, I wish them the best and will be hoping they can pull it off...but I think the negatives of trying a sequel far outweigh the positives (the only solid positive I can see is that it's going to make everyone involved a ton of money).

As said before here, if they make it, I'll see it.
Personally I'll never understand the philosophy of a sequel ruining the previous films. And seeing as Spielberg is IMO still a very worthy director, I've got a lot of desire to see this. So, my only request is that I get to watch this movie before my grandkids are born.

I never will understand saying that a film will suck and ruin a franchise until you first see the film. That's what took some of the boxoffice away from a deserving T3. So many people were saying the film would suck before it came out that I think it discouraged many people from plunking down 10 bucks to see it. As it turned out, it wasn't a bad film and certainly more worthy of time/money than some of the other dreck from that summer (Hulk, Matrix Reloaded, Charlie's Angels, etc.)
Who knows? It may be a decent film but if it sucks I'll be the first to admit it after I see the film.

I have really mixed feelings on this. I love the Indiana Jones trilogy, but I somewhat feel it might be too late to do another one. I really don't want a fourth movie to come out that is subpar that ends up tarnishing the series.

I will see it as well, but I think I'm probably in the minority when I say that I didn't care for the "Last Crusade" at all. Too much emphasis on religion, and too many questions answered; I preferred Indy a little mysterious, as well as a little more serious. Sure there was humor in the first film, but it wasn't "played for laughs" as much as LC was. And as much as I originally liked "Temple of Doom" when I first saw it (it was actually the first Indy flick I saw), I think that it's a close tie between it and LC which is worse. When the hell will they release them individually anyway, so I can simply buy the first one and be done with it?!?!?!?!

I think we can expect some type of "I'm getting too old for this" joke/comment by Indy somewhere in the film. Hopefully nothing too corny or cliched. Maybe something reminiscent of the scene in Raiders where he pulls the gun on the guy challenging him to a sword fight. I actually always liked the bits of humor thrown in here and there when he got annoyed or grumpy over something. It made him more of a flawed hero, which I liked.
I wonder if Sean Connery will make an appearance...or is his character supposed to be dead by now?
