Ong Bak
Ong Bak is tough to search for using the site's feature so if this is duplicative, I apologize.
Just watched the trailer for Ong Bak & was taken completely by surprise. Where did this guy come from??? For those as unfamilier with this film as I was, it is a martial arts actioner staring a guy named Tony Jaa. The studio is proclaiming him to be the next Bruce Lee/Jackie Chan/Jet Li. As a huge fan of Bruce & Jackie I don't take these sorts of claims lightly and will reserve judgement until I see the movie...but I gotta say this guy looks kick ass. More Jackie than Bruce, but damned good! Check out the trailer at: http://www.apple.com/trailers/indepe..._bak-tlr.html/ and the teaser at: http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/ong_bak.html/ Have fun! |
I cant wait for the North American Release of this movie. I know it has been out on non Region 1 DVD for some time, but I want to see this in the theater.
I hope it makes it to Toronto. (still kicking myself for missing it at the 2003 film festival) |

I don't know. I'm afraid the plot looks a little too complicated. :)

I watched this movie earlier this year, and thought it was decent at best. The plot was pretty lame, but I know that's not why people watch martial arts movies. The fighting was pretty cool, but there were just too many cheesy moments that made me roll my eyes. They did this effect where they would show all the "cool" hits multiple times over, in slow motion. It got irritating, and took me out of the movie.
Not a horrible movie. It was pretty entertaining, but it's nothing I'd watch again. |
