He's always been in movies. Doesn't mean he's super famous again. I think he'll always be able to get acting work. I don't hate the guy, I just think that his 'famous time' came and went.

He's just not a very good actor. Yes I've seen 'Hollywoodland'.

So no I don't think he'll bounce back. Actually I can see him starring in a TV show in a few years. That'll probably be the extent of his comeback.

I don't think he should try to "comeback." He was pretty uncomfortable in the leading man role. He's great in Kevin Smith movies, and I am sure Kevin will find roles for him in the future. In the meantime, I think the best thing for him is to just pick movies that deliver something good, rather than good paychecks. He could be a tremendous indy film star.

watch the scene in "bounce" when he's saying goodbye to the mom and kid while crying.

you'll understand why this topic is crazy

and if that's not enough keep watching the movie and wait for the scene when he testifies in court

I've never seen Bounce, and won't ever see bounce. Is he good in it, or are you saying that he was really bad?

Holy Lazarus! Why do you people insist on resurrecting threads that are years old?

To post a joke that they've been holding onto for three years...he admitted it.

The thing that gets me is that if somebody doesn't resurrect an old thread, and starts a new one, somebody who remembers the thread from the coon's age will inevitably post a link to the old thread in the new thread and sometimes will go on a rant about how people don't use the "search" button. Added points if they include a linked pic if the search button!

Then somebody resurrects an old thread without starting a new one and inevitably somebody comes along to marvel at how old the original thread was and gawk in astonishment at it being bumped back up.

You can't ever win.

Actually, right now the only thing I'd like to see him in, believe it or not, is a sequel to Daredevil.

The theatrical cut wasn't very good, but the director's cut was. Affleck was good as Matt Murdock, and if they could follow up the director's cut with something more in that vein then I'd be all for it.

Other than that I don't really care what Affleck does - or doesn't do.

I wish you'd put that in a spoiler... thanks for ruining it for me.

I'm an Affleck fan. There's worse actors out there. I liked him in Changing Lanes quite a bit.

Honestly, it just seems that he said yes to too many projects that maybe he should have thought about more or just ended up not as good on film as on paper. I don't think he needs to bounce back.. but I'm sure he wants to continue to work and he probably did well to take a break and has done his best to lay low from the paparazzi type media.

I like the Affleck Duck ("Affleck! Affleck!!!")

and I also like Ben, a lot, too. Always have, ever since 1993's Dazed & Confused.

As far as Changing Lanes, while I thought the performances were very good, Affleck was just the dumbest lawyer this side of Timbuk-2! Not only does he leave the "scene of an accident," but he blackmails Samuel L. Jackson - and leaves evidence of it by recording a message on Jackson's answering machine! That, I couldn't get over. He'd get disbarred if Jackson decided to use that answering machine tape against him.

I digress.

I like Affleck. Both of em.

Yeah, he did bring that on himself....well, THEY brought that on themselves. There are Hollywood couples out there that manage to stay away from the tabloids and overexposure.

Bounce back to what? Being a shitty actor who happens to be friends with a good actor and mediocre director?

That about sums it up. His fans can't say anything better than "There's worse actors out there." He had a simple, one dimensional role in Dazed And Confused and was by far the low point of the film.

Put Affleck in the bathroom and let him stay there.
