Apparently Bill Murray will have a small role in Basic Instinct 2:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0430912/

Also...

Sharon Stone told Access Hollywood that her character, Catherine Tramell, will have a bisexual relationship in the sequel Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction.

"There is lesbian love," Stone said, "We're testing for her now."

Stone said she was surprised at the attention her interrogation scene in the original 1992 Basic Instinct movie received. "People still want to see some more of that," she said with a laugh. When asked if that was the plan for the sequel, she smiled and replied, "You can spend your $12 and go find out for yourself."

In the follow-up slated for release in 2006, Catherine relocates from San Francisco to London and quickly finds herself on the wrong side of the law. David Morrissey plays a criminal psychologist assigned the task of evaluating her by Scotland Yard. She may finally have met her match in the shrink.

Hard to say how this one will turn out...Michael Caton-Jones has directed some great films (Doc Hollywood) and some real clunkers (The Jackal). But I think the real appeal of the first Basic Instinct was Michael Douglas...unless Murray has a huge part, I don't think Stone can carry a film on her own. She's just not that good of an actress.

Found a trailer for Basic Instinct 2. Looks like a late night Skinemax flick. I'm assuming this was a European trailer because of the nudity. Anyways, check it out:

This isn't a trailer, it looks like pirated footage made into something that looks like a trailer.

That trailer/footage made the movie look awful. Like Showgirls awful. I'm not really suprised as Basic Instinct didn't have a lot going for it, it wasn't terrible but that's about all I can say about that.

That looked like a straight to video skin flick. Stone still looks okay, but she ain't what she once was, and it shows in that video, even if it might be the grainy footage doing her the injustice. Unless they release this movie with the NC-17 or unrated and just say: "Hey, it ain't nothing but a skin flick," then I will skip it. It looks like low brow porn, they might as well push it as such.

I'm still surprised that Michael Caton-Jones (This Boy's Life, Rob Roy) is directing this because it does have that straight-to-video skin flick vibe.

I predict an unrated DVD released before June. Sony will have this on DVD within 10 weeks (maybe even less if it tanks) after it's theatrical release.

That's what it looked like to me. Sure, the footage looks legit, but the trailer is just so amateurish looking. I'll reserve judgement until something from a more credible source pops up.

I thought that footage was sucky regarding to being a good movie but awesome when it came to the soft-core porn. I can't believe Sharon Stone is showing all that. I was never a fan of hers but I just may have to see this for the arousal factor.

Worked for me. Sheesh, talk about trailers showing all the good parts I'd have agree that it didn't look much like a trailer.

God forbid you reach 50!

I remember Stone rejecting several of her potential Costars. I think the settled on a Brittish guy.

I saw the trailer (the offical one) for this and, damn, Sharon is phoning in her lines like there is no tomorrow.

"Addicted to risk"? "I need a cigarette"? The 'voilent' pulls to kiss were laughable.

The music that starts towards the end of the trailer is awesome, though.

I'm game for BI2.

And I can't wait to go commando and light up a cig. Why are they going to do, arrest me for allowing life to imitate art?

The subtitle: Risk Addiction has been dropped by the studio, and now the movie will only be named: Basic Instinct 2

I wouldn't considered this as a reliable, professional editorial review in the least, and strictly without merit, with the inclusive frequent usage of profanity that it maintains.

I agree - it's usually amateur night over there, but figured no harm in posting it.

Single104, I agree with you, but come on, I don't think they're trying to simply bash a 'great film'. We knew this would be a terrible movie. The article itself brings up interesting points:

The trailer with nudity in it that was released on the internet-- apparently most of that stuff has been cut from the movie. There is about 20 seconds of sex in the film, and most of it is seeing a guys ass bob up and down.
